lol, those are great. though i dont agree with the counter-strike one - counter-strike is well and alive. some people didnt switch from 1.5 yet, and that might account for the smaller amount of people than 1.5

A friend of mine who's been in Cal tournaments (i don't really follow/like cs so i don't know which) was a fanatic about cs. It's all he would play. The Suddenly 1.6 came out and he won't touch it because according to him the new versin has ruined cs... he keeps talking about how the tatical shield is nub?

Oh ya so my point is if he feels that way so do probably many other cs players...

the shield was the one huge problem during the beta. first people were complaining that there were AWPers, so they got shield. Then shields were too strong. So then there were all the exploits with the shield. People starting saying things like the para or XM should be able to pierce it, but, unfortunately, if a para can pierce a shield, so can an AWP realistically, so to allow the para to shoot through the shield means either sacrifice realism and dont allow AWPs to do same, or destroy the original purpose behind the shield, and allow AWPs to kill. There were many arguements, and pretty much one conclusion was drawn: you don't like shields - don't allow them on servers. I'm sure scripts will follow that disable shields.
My personal opinion is that shields add a whole new layer to the strategy, but, they are too strong.
