Steam Status and the "infamous update pattern"

An update to the Steam client has just been released. Steam will update itself automatically when you restart. Servers will need to be restarted. Here is a list of the changes:

Well, even if it isn't the major CS:S update we were hoping for, it's an update...

WOW, that little pattern thingy seems to always point to an update :thumbs:
 
something may happen if it doesn't oh well..if it does then all of you get a cookie! :thumbs:
 
i got an steam platform update just now as well...in addition to the one lastnight that started when i started CS:S.
 
wonder what it could be, preparing themselves for something nice?
 
lets hope so. It may be because of the hacked version of CS:S that has been floating around.

I also just recieved a Steam platform update. It's probably just the update today that didn't work earlier :angry:
 
Yeah it was just a small one at startup..I thought there would be something else, it would be nice to know what they updated.

10k? How many people were listed as playing CS:S before?

steam users, not cs:s users. it was a steam update, not a CS:S update.

Gah... if Valve release an anti-crack update every so often I sincerely hope they don't all take this long to download and verify :(

Meh, maybe my net is just slow today. Price we pay for online authorisation and VAC and... stuff.... with happy rabbits... or something...

I didn't bother reading who said that quote, as it wasn't necessary.
 
a CS:S update with more player models and maps would be awesome. hopefully thats what were getting.
 
I dont think that a dip has lasted this long before, its usualy just a short dip then back to normal...

Maybe they got alot of content to upload this time...
 
Something is definitely up. All these gold rumors. Giant dips in Steam. May be time to go buy that Silver package before the rush....
