Steam Ticket User ID Problem Since Update/Free Weekend News

Hi all,

This lunchtime I got annoyed. Very annoyed.

The reason? Day of Defeat Source wasn't working, by which I mean I could not get onto a server to play. I thought I had sorted the problem when, I realised the update would've changed the hl2.exe DOD: S uses, so I made sure it was allowed - still not working. So, I disabled my Internet security program (Bullguard), and I got onto a server for about 2 secs before it told me there was a connection problem, then that there was a problem with my Steam User ID Ticket.

This happened on every server I tried. I know the connection was ok, because I could download the server list, and my friend was playing DOD: S as well on the same connection (through a router).

I have validated the DOD: S files using Steam, and can't think of anything else to check - only that because of this free weekend, that Steam might be slow connecting, but nothing else. ;(

Has anyone had this problem since the update/news, or ever had it before? Any help would be gratefully recieved..... :imu:

Log out of steam (not just close) and log back in. Should work then.

Yeah, I tried that too. Even did a restart. Same problem though.

Thanks JMan, will try that next time I play, I had heard of this before actually, I just have the memory of a goldfish.
