Steam Vs Debit Cards

Plans for updating their payment processor to accept anything other than Visa and Mastercard. Also, no plans for letting you use a third party payment processor like WorldPay or PayPal.

I'm quite certain I've seen a statement around here somewhere that contradicts that. But it's not in the Info From Valve-thread strangely enough. Oh well.

So Visa and MasterCard debit cards will work with Steam? If so that's good news for me, since my parents won't let me use their credit card because they are scared they will get haxored. But, since debits work, I should be able to get one of my friends who is not technologically inept to pay for the silver package, after which I would pay them back with money from a cancelled preorder.
