Steam won't open chat.

Steam was playing up showing random codestrings. I Thought nothing of it. I was chatting in steam chat and then i got dissconnected. So i restart steam. Was laggy. I restart my PC. Got rid of the Code bits. Managed to connect and stuff, but now I can't get into chat, even restarting PC doesn't help. I just get the spinny loading thing. Any idea what's wrong?

EDIT: now it doesn't even acknowledge that I've clicked open chat.

Reinstall Steam, seems like the best solution. Delete everything except your Steamapps folder, then download Steam. Are you participating in the beta? if so try opting out to see if it works again, or opt into the beta to see if that gets it working.

Well it was the beta opt in that made the code show up. I'll reinstall.

EDIT: Works now.
