What kind of stickies do you want to see? I only want to keep stuff up that you guys would use. If any of you want to put something up post what about and see if others like it. And I know MRG has made a few guides. Ideas

How to speed up your pc (no overclocking and money involved).

some of us run crappy pc but we want better performance.

CTR+ALT+DELETE, and then right click and, end explorer process structure. Then when you're done with your game, go to c:windows\explorer, and click the explorer.exe., to restart it

But generally what you expect is impossible.

Something like a good computer for the money at different price points, good free/cheap anti-virus, firewalls, anti-spyware utils, and ways to reduce startup time like getting rid of services and stuff...

how miuch increase does that give you? would be cool if someone made a program to close and reopen explorer.exe depending on the software used.

Cool, nice suggestions. Lets keep listing some other ideas.

most of us noe that, but that is part of the speed up process. some old pcs have lots of spywares and other junk like registries. this pc i use is a P4 2.26 ghx with 256 mb ram and it runs great cuz i try to limit wat programs to use and wat i download. usually, downloading too much is bad for the harddrive. also, i use 2 spyware programs and CCleaner to get rid of crap.

if u use msconfig on the run program, u can control wat programs should run at start up. it quickens the loading up process.

Anyone else have ideas of things they would use as stickies?
Or anyone have ideas of guides/stickies they would want to write?

i would add a sticky for people who aren't knowledgeable of psu's and it should tell how to buy the right power supply for you. also tell what not to buy.

How about my biography? Its very sticky, tell you what.

It would make me happier than a tornado in trailer park. :afro:

A PSU sticky would be excellent. I find myself having to explain that PSUs aren't all about wattage.

I wanted to post couple of PDF files about; 10 ways to secure WinXP and turning off system services which almost no one uses and hog system resources and which also can be exploited. These two files Exceed the maximum size allowed.

They are very great and useful files, extremely user friendly. Lemme know Asus if you want me to email ya.

If we were to use them the best thing would be to host them on one of those sites that lets you host files for free.

Frequently updated benchmark tests, especially from sites other than Anandtech and Tomshardware. That one where they tested all the mice was brilliant but most people have never seen it.
