It's lousy for the first half, but right before "now these points of data make a beautiful line" it starts getting good.

Not quite my cup of tea to be honest. I think the vocals (original song) were a bit too strong/loud compared to the background music. It think that if you toned down the volume of the original song for the most part, but kept the quiet bits the same volume ("I think I'd prefer to stay inside", in particular) so you can hear them clearly it might come across better.
