Such a concept raises alot of interesting questions, makes me think about my position on abortion.

Are we to condemn her for allowing the life of a child to depend on money?
But wait, if we are pro-abortion, or at least pro-choice, then we hold the view that the child does not exist, and thus it is no more horrible than give me 40grand or I won't get pregnant.

It's an interesting thought that anyone's life could depend on money, because ultimately their is a life depending on it. However, we commit abortion every day by not spreading our man seeds at every opportunity. By not having as much sex as possible we are denying people of life. A feeling that whats shes doing is still very wrong still resonates with me though.

I hope you don't think this is about pro life or choice. Your stance can be eitherway, but EVERYONE should see the wrong in this. All she's really doing is capitalizing on someones personal beliefs, which is probably one of the worst things you could do.

Having beliefs doesn't. Having beliefs because some group told you so without showing any evidence for it, does make you an idiot yes. But sadly, this more often than not happens in childhood, where the child can't make out what's bullshit and what's believable.

Where would it end for such a person? Would he still pay if the claim was $100.000? A million? If abortion is murder and a fetus is human, does that mean you can put a price on the murder of an adult human? After all, 'human' is absolute according to them, killing a fetus is like killing an adult according to them, and being willing to pay only a certain sum says it's fine to kill someone if it will cost you too much..

Why is 'human' absolute anyway? Human isn't absolute, it's not binary. Depending on how you define 'human', someone can be half-human or a hundredth human. If you set 5 requirements on a human and a fetus only makes one, it's 20% human. If you say a 'human' should be sentient, a fetus wouldn't be human. If you only require it to contain human DNA, it is human, but so is its plecenta and even the skincells you daily shed. It isn't absolute. Absolutes are an invention of man, you can't say a fetus is human, but at the same time claim that a chimpanzee isn't.

And if abortion is murder, then why is it OK to eat a placenta, which is a clone of the baby and it's cannibalism?

PS: I wonder if you could go up to them and threaten that you'll masturbate and kill 500 million potential children unless they give you €1000.

I was refering specifically to religious opposition to abortion in this thread.

In the bible, god defines a human being as anyone over one month of age - outside the womb. Specifically, he does so because he does not consider abortion to be murder (and may possibly support infanticide). The penalty for murder in the bible is death, while for abortion it is a small fine.

As for reality, abortion is absolutely no different from any other form of contraception.
