strafe problems

When im playing the game i ramdomly strafe either to the left or right continually without me actually doing anything. After a bit of moving about i can correct this and it stops, but it occurs too frequently to make playing the game enjoyable (and too frequently to make multiplayer possible)

Anyone know why?

I've only had that problem when I was using a cordless mouse......and it was on another game completely!

yeah its a cordless mouse, but the mouse works fine in all other games....any ideas anyone if theres a fix for this somewhere?

it shouldnt be the mouse anyway, since you're not using the mouse to strafe. I assume you still have keys 'A' and 'D' set for strafing. It sounds like a game issue to me, since im sure you would've noticed if, when you're in a word processor, the lettters A and D randomly pop up. I would suggest trying to rebind those keys in-game. Bind strafe left and strafe right to any two keys that arent being used. Then go into a game and see what happens (nevermind if they are bound keys that aren't comfortable, this is just for troubleshooting). Does it happen when you're not moving forward or backward? As in, if you let the character sit w/o touching anything does he strafe left and right randomly?
