can anyone tell me what breed she is?

we found her wandering near our driveway like she was lost but her boney ribs make us think she doesn't deserve to go back to where she came from.

Dachshund??

She could just be bony from missing meals, who knows how long she's been wandering for?

poor thing. warped's list looks good, take a look.

you gonna keep it, or take it to some kind of dog trust?

edit: could be a jack russell

yeah she might be a mut....but a breed of mut i've seen before. i'll keep looking...if she IS a jack russel she's a BIG one!

Yeah, face looks a bit like a russel terrier. Could be a cross with a labrador maybe?

nah for some reason i don't see any lab in her....i dunno

i'm thinking maybe pit?

Looks like a Jack Russell Terrier, based on that chart.

Looks like she has a bulldogesque face(particularly the 2nd pic) which would also go someways to explaining her large frame, too large for a small terrier.

Definately a mongrel though.

I had a dog that lived through parvo... and our vet had given him much, much slimmer odds.

Then he bit a neighbor and we had to get rid of him.

UPDATE:
Vet treated her and let us know she thinks Charlie (dogs name) is half german shepard half pit bull.
she's actually eating now and is a LITTLE more energetic but still kinda sicky.

You must ask a vet. It is because some dogs are more likely to carry parasites. Hence, not all species of dog are edible.

no not seriously

Get some meat on that thing. It's likely a mutt, and check for parasites. It could be that it hasn't eaten well for some time, it could also be that parasites are going to town in its guts, or is sick in some other way.

I think it's really admirable you've taken her in, fed her, given her a home and taken her to the vet for treatment. If she gets better you'll have saved a life with no previous chance. If she doesn't get better you'll have given her some time and improvement from whatever her previous life was.

Please keep us updated, best of luck with treatment. I really hope it works.

Just speaking to my missus who is a training vet, she wondered why the dog isn't being contained and quarantined as parvo is so incredibly infectious to other dogs? Also, considering the dog is so emaciated with parvo, how her chances of pulling through are so high, since most cases with strays result in mortality unfortunately.
