Today I reinstalled my Windows XP just to get the CS:S Beta to work. It was defently worth reinstalling XP for CS:S. Anywayz I did a HL 2 Stress Test.

Pentium 4 3.2 ghz
1024 Ram
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Megs
Direct X 9.0c
Surround Sound 5 Speakers + plus big boom box
LCD 17 INCH Sony Black Flat Monitor
52x CDRW

Results = 55.4 FPS :) Good enough for me :)

55.4 doesn't seem like a lot to me considering your specs.

55.4fps Is great for his specs, hes bottlenecked by his Video Card. (I dont know what res you were running but im guessing 1024x768)

Heres my results All Max/Reflections, 91.62fps @1600x1200 no AA/AF (with 4xaa/8xaf I get 54fps): Source Benchmark score

Heres my Specs (Im bottlenecked by my CPU I think):

P4 3ghz
1Gig PC4000 Corsair XMS Ram
IC7 Max 3 Mobo
BFG 6800 Ultra OC
Audigy 2 ZS
Dual 80 Gig HDs (not raided)
Windows XP SP2, Dx9c
22" Mitsubishi/NEC 2070SB Monitor (100hz @1600x1200)

I have the same video card, but I have a 2.4Ghz P4 and only 512MB of RAM, and I got 65.25 FPS. So I think you have a little bit of optimizing to do.

I get 55.4 with a 9500 Pro @ 1024x768 on high with no AA or AF. I hope he's doing something that is more stressful than the default settings.

I'm just hoping my Radeon Pro gives me a good enough FPS for me not to "notice" with everything on max. I really don't care about FPS and I never have it up in a game. I only notice it when I start playign poorly because the comp uses "old images" which I use to aim...

3.2E ghz ( Prescott ) 1024
1gig Dual 3200 DDR Ram
9800 Pro
all bells and whistles on, 94.7fps.

Same graphics, Athlon XP 2200+ with 1GB(Dual Channel) DDR266 with 65,9FPS.

And i also thought mine was a little low :rolling: :rolling:

Turns out it wasn't yay :)

eyesore can you specify any special about your configuration? I doubt that the benchmark should be THAT cpubound.

i get 60 fps with everything cranked, 6x aa, vertical synch, high everything.

I only have a geforce 5700
512 ram
amd 3200xp

WOW I just updated my video card driver and got 73.41 HUGE JUMP from 55.4 all the way to 73.41 w00t :) 1024X768 :D not sure if AA, AF was one :p

I did 3 tests this time, last one gave 75FPS.

So no configuration changes in drivers, or anything?

it would be better if everyone tested with the same settings, for example 1024*768, 4x AA 8x AF or something, then we easily could compare our results?

just a thought :)

p4 2,6ghz @ 3,25 ghz
2x 512 mb dual mode @ 333mhz
audigy 2 Zs
sapphire 9800xt 256 mb
88.27 fps anything high 2x af 0x aa
1024x768

Yes conkorg, update your drivers. . .I already told you this in msn, updating your motherboard drivers SHOULD give you a performance gain.

My specs:
2.8 GHZ
1 gig RAM
Radeon 9800 Pro
I got a good fps of about 90.
I used to have a peice of junk machine, its hard to believe I can run stuff like CS:S flawlessly now :smoking:

my specs

P4 3.2ghz
1 gig of ram *getting another GIG through the post so will have 2024gig
Radeon 9800xt 256mb
21inch screen so the resolution can go to the full/highest
5.1surround sound

dude like everything is on high and it runs so smooth!!! love it so much

I got 77 average FPS with quite high settings (1024x768), and about 54 average fps on everything turned on and at 1280x1024 :)
