Striders!!!!

Another pointless post probably, i was wondering if anyone actually know yet, how to actually bring down a strider? Ive seen quite a few videos with striders in, but never do they die! Countless rockets hitting them, and incessant machine gun fire, however they seem to shrug it off! Can you bring down these beasts somehow? Does anybody know yet?

you you can brign them down. i think gaame spy killed one when they played it.
i wonder if you can lift the dead strider up with the Manipulator LOL

Yes you can kill a Strider. You have to wait till the game comes out to see how you can do it.

the fact that i can look at that and laugh really gets me worried...

Ive seen attempts in the strider video with the manipulator, it knocks the strider forward a bit...but hardly defeats it...unless you can blast its leg away with the manipulator alternative function thing? Possible?

You take of your shoe lace and then tie it to one of his feet and go around him realy fast until he falls.Or if that doesnt work just keep shooting him.

Watch out though, rockets and bullets won't be effective. You may want to go for their legs.

In the PC Zone video it looks like one of the striders are beginning to crash just before the second kills you.

hit the knees - They probably dont want you to know how to do it which is why when the knees and torso line up gordon moves position rather than shooting and giving the game away. The knees buckle when shot you can see this all in the e2004 videos.

I am very confident about this.

Pretty sure a preview build which Gamespy played around last fall mentioned that using the shotgun on the legs was the ticket to bringing it down. Dunno if they've changed damage allocation or not since then, though.
