does ne one know if the striders are actual aliens or are they robots controlled by the combine?

I know, for a fact that they are robotic and controlled by the combine.

I thought that they were models with textures in a game we will soon be playing..

partially organic and partially mechanical..I think the REAL question is..

Are they sentient beings or mindless constructs?

... and I think that you've seen 'The Matrix' too many times.

Why do you have to rip the guys question to bits? What he asked was simple and required either a yes or no, yet trying to act like a smart-ass you decide to analyse the whole comment he made.

*holds fingers in an L shape above his forehead*

Oh and Yeah, I think the Striders are most definitely Organic-Machines, much in the same way the Drop Ship is.

Stfu. We don't need leak talk, especially coming from a new member. Earn respect before you even mention it, and even then, best not to.
Back to the point, I'm pretty sure that the striders are biomechanical, like the dropship. They just appear that way.

easy there tiger! it was a harmless joke!! relax..

but just to alleviate any concerns...

jellydoughnut217 I hope YOU didn't take offense at what I said because none was intended..

the first line I was f'n around but after that I stated my opinion

and then asked something I thought was a legitimate question...

I have no idea where the matrix comes into play with my post

maybe someone who has actually watched the silly flicks can tell me

I don't want to make such a greivous error ever again

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW CAN YOU MINDLESS PROPLE WAIT UNTIL TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if i had to guess i would have to say they are robotic, and that more than likely there is a combine soldier in them, controlling them. kinda like a tank or something

They look like biomechanoids with cybernetic enhancements.

Their carapaces look organic, and they appear to have organic features, like musculature and hairs, but, as seen in newer pics, they also feature what seem to be rivets across one section of their shells, and we've been able to see for a while that the "ankle" area seems to have a mechanical joint in it.

it has been said in a review in a very of-hand sort of way .. "blah blah...the robotic 'striders' do a great job of slowing you down whilst combine call for back up.." something like that

So yes mechanical. Although they look sorta organic/biomechanical so ask me again on tuesday :)

Biomechanical. A robot with organic parts (the antimatter cannon can swing around loosely). Same as the Gunship, which is also biomechanical (it moves like an organism and emits nonarticulated sounds.
