Stuck at Route Canal

I'm stuck at the last part. On the airboat but cant get past the gate to open toxic lake.

um.... it would help if you had a screenshot...

if you're where think you are.... there are 3 main obsticles on the course:

1. A ramp that you need to lift by placing hollow blue barrols underneath the jumping end (in water)
2. A ramp that you need to lift by placing a washing machine in the lift area...
3. A door that you need to smash open by blowing up the barrols that hold a lot of metal poles.

That's water hazard, he's referring to route canal. I guess he's talking about the first time he's getting the airboat and the gate doesn't open for him. Try loading from the last save.

I did load from last saved but same result.

Chuck a few barrels infront of the gate and go full speed into them you should be able to make it over the gate.

Just to make sure... did you turn the wheel that opens this gate? It's not supposed to open itself, you need to turn the wheel.

You cannot to turn the wheel, look around, there should be explosive barrels around, explode them and see the physics engine in action.

I think he is refering to the end of route kanal, the part you mention is in water hazard.

I appreciate the help. I try to place some barrel in front of the gate & jump over it. It took some time to get over the gate. I've read the guide on HL2 & the girl refuelling the craft should open the gate.

So I quit the game & start over again. This time it seems to work. Must be some error with the AI.
