stuck at the lighthouse

this ma seem child's play to some of you but i'm stuck at the lighthouse where i'm suppose to get to the hidden passage at the cliffside.i can't seem to jump to the ledge is there something i am missing?

There should be a medic that comes down the stairs and makes you follow them to the basement, and theres a control panel on a wooden support, and he will put the code in to open the door out of the wall which is nearly invisable prior to the opening. So if theres no medic there you will need to reload that level section from a previous save point.

Heh, I'm having a problem at the lighthouse as well, though it's not the same problem. Okay, basically I go through the big firefight, that is FUN. But when I blow the chopper out of the sky, the thing crashes, and just as it crashes, the game does the sound loop crash every time.

Park the jeep in the garage, that part got me stuck too.

eh, well, the jeep is in the garage, i'm talking about the END of the firefight being a pain in the arse. The game crashes once the helicopter crashes.

I turned the sound off and things worked well, but then when the heli went down, the entire screen went black.

Look in the console Oyaji291... see if any errors are coming up. Make a bug report to valve or if its something to do with your pc, fix it

Try redownloading hl2 and checking the file validation again... i dont know.

i'm gonna try updating my drivers, windows updates, etc. but i REALLY think that all of my problems are stemming from the patch... i get frozen up and have to press the restart button on my tower after three quick saves...
