Stuck--Ch7: Highway 17 --Blue Shields on Bridge Won't Go Away

I've been following 2 different walkthroughs -- and have played through this section 2x, with the same result.

I get to the huge bridge, navigate the girders to the room with the blue shield....shoot out the plug and then go over and press the button. The button however, is already red before I press it. But once I do, the airship appears - I kill it - go back to the buggy -- take the side path up to the tracks, wait for the train to pass and go down to enter the tunnel -- but the blue shields are still in place and I can't get by. I've also noticed that where I get on the tracks from that path, the blue shield is also up BEHIND me. Perhaps I'm not supposed to use that path? I didn't see any other way to get on the tracks and I'm not sure that has anything to do with anything. I'm hoping I don't have to play this secion a third time -- but I must be missing something -- either that or it's a bug?

Anyone experience this?

Could you get a screenshot or 2 of the main place.
Did you try reloading the same place and redoing it, sometimes scripts don't work.

I don't have any screenshots -- but I did reload and do the area twice, with the same result. It's the area on Highway 17 with the huge trestle with the trains on it -- and you have to avoid being hit head on. But according to 2 walkthroughs, the blue shields that are across the tracks are supposed to drop and they don't. And I can't move any further if they don't, lol.

Are you entering the tunnel that the train came out of? if so that's the wrong one. When you cross the bridge (i'm asuming your that far since your past the train almost hitting you head on) go to the other side and drive down to your left off the bridge and the highway. Keep driving through the grass past the broken up concrete highway trusses and their should be another tunnel. That's the one you want. Hope that helped.
