stuck in "Follow Freeman"

I have made my way to the building with the flooded basement and the guy that warns of the infestation but cannot work out where to go next... I have read a walkthrough that says "head for the roof" but how do I do that???? Anyone???

If i remember you've got to go into the water with the zombies (I hated that part), you'll find a stairwell somewhere down there... run up it to get up to the roof.

alright when you walk into the basement and go to the raised concrete with the injured guy on it. If you look to your right when you walk onto that dry patch with the injured resistance fighter on it you should see another part of the flooded basement. Wade through there, killing the zombies as you do, to some stairs on the opposite side and you should be able to make it to the roof from there.

Yeah when your are on the raised platform with the injured bloke you go into the water and the stairs should be to the left.
