Stuck on level.

Hello. I'm new to Half Life 2 and am working my way through the Kanals. I am stuck in a room where there is a concrete walkway on top that leads to a larg room with a latter that goes into the water and leads no where. back in the main room there is a ladder that leads down into water with a huge concrete opeining that I can't get to because it is too high. I have tried to stack barrels in the water so I could jump on them to reach the opening but it is too high and the barrels won't cooperate. I seem to be stuck here and don't know what to do. Any help would be great. I know this seems vaige but it is hard to discribe each room because there are soo many.

In the second room, within all the pipes there is a valve somewhere... turn it. I know it because I did the same thing except that I did manage to climb on the barrels to make my way out.

Ok I think I know where you are, in the middle of the room is a yellow ladder climb to the top of it, turn around there should be a pipe, crouch across it until you got to the other side, in the next room you will see lots of pipes near the bottom there is a valve to turn this will flood the place, go back in to the room you came from and go down the ladder, then swim though the tunnel you should be right from hear on.

Have you done all this?

Ok this is the first time I have ever played an on-line video game so I didn't know about the walkthrough until now. I did google a walkthrough once I found out about them and just didn't reply to my post with a "nevermind" yet. This is all pretty new to me and I have a lot of other things in my life not just games so to get to the point bbson_john, don't be such an ass. Someday you will find out that there is more to life than games until then don't be bitter. Poor guy. Ha ha!!
