I can't say much, except that their movies tend to be awesome. Nausicaa (not Ghibli, but still Miyazaki), Laputa, Totoro, Ponyo, heck, I named my cats after Jiji the black witch's cat from Kiki's Delivery Service.

"Hey Kiki, it's me!"

Also the only reason I love Phil Hartman other than Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz. R.I.P.

They're certainly responsible for some of my favourite animated films, but the last couple have been pretty lax but their standards. Which isn't to say they're bad, just infuriatingly meagre in comparison to the greats. I also think Miyazaki milks the same few themes and concepts a bit too much from movie to movie, but he's very good at crafting a tangible sense of charm, and of course some startlingly beautiful animation.

Looking forward to seeing The Borrower Arrietty, anyway. Hopefully a return to form in terms of storytelling.

Oh also, your image is a direct link and is broken. :p

That's odd... it shows up for me.

Oddly enough, their new borrower film is the one that I have the least expectations for.

What? You mean Porco Rosso? That started out as an in-flight movie, but it grew into another feature film. Not sure it was even shown on JAL after all the fuss.

So from the list, I take it you're familiar exclusively with Miyazaki's films? An appreciation of Ghibli isn't complete without Grave of the Fireflies tbh. And I have a soft spot for Whisper of the Heart too, but your mileage may vary.

I've enjoyed every Ghibli movie I've seen thus far. Cant wait to see more.

The only one I've seen is Howl's Moving Castle, and it sucked.

Congrats you've seen the worst one.

By several miles.

Actually, a pig who resembles porco starts describing various steampunk airship designs made by Miyazaki, including a few from Laputa. Curious that I couldn't find any info on it, anywhere.
