I dunno what the problem is, but I seem to have horrible luck with telephones. There are two phones in the house- one of which I am allowed to use. This one phone is old and worn out. Like, the way my mouse is worn out- you have to really pound on the button for it to do anything. You sit there and push on it, until the number pops up, except there about three or four extras along with it.
Then, there's this sort of phobia that I have, that if I call someone, something bad is going to happen. Whether I'll interrupted dinner, or they're in some kind of trouble, or they're having sex, or stalking someone, or whatever. It doen't help that half the time I'm right- half of every phone call I've made has been something like, sorry this is a bad time, can you call later?
The other half, they never pick up.
I like it when people call me. That always seems to work out ok, unless my mom wants to use the phone, in which case I am violently rejected. The thing is, nobody ever calls me. That's probably due to me never giving anyone my phone number, but, you know.. they never asked.
I don't like cell phones, partly because I hate the people who's whole lives revolve around their damn phone, and partly because I don't want a portable jinx in my pocket.
