Is there any way to re-install a steam game you have downloaded without having to download it again?

Probably a stupid question, sorry

Thats why I don't like the idea of downloading games or music, there is no way to restore it if it's deleted or needed to be deleted to clear up some hard-drive space. I also like that fact that you have a physical copy of the game that you KNOW that you REALLY HAVE.

Right-click game in Steam, click Properties, click Local Files, click Verify intergity of game cache. Let it finish.

What it does is basically to check if all your downloaded files are correct.

And if your files are ok, just right click on the game and select 'backup game files', creating an installer you can use to extract the games from a DVD or CD backup at a later date, if that's what your question was in the first place.

Poor Help and Support forum. Why don't we just have a sticky thread saying 'verify the cache', because everyone suggests it even if it's the answer to the original question or not.

That was exactly what I meant, thank you :)
