stupid torrents

anyone know why they always stop at 99 percent and continue to upload, but never finish downloading?

I mean.... DO they finish downloading???

just so no one gets pissed off, this isn't an illegal download. i'm downloading this software to make a new CD - lost the old one.

Generally becuaes when you get to 99% not many ppl have the part of the file you need. Thus it hangs around there fo a while.

How long will this take do you think? I had a really fast download time. I had like an hour left before i went to bed and then bam.... i woke up, and it was 99 percent done... since 8 30 this morning it's been saying somewhere in the vicinity of 3 hours.

Depends on how many users are online.

Go grab Shareaza it acts as a bittorent client supports magnet links and connects to gnutnella and edonkey. Google for it I'm too slack to add a link right now.

I've never had a fast dl the times I've used it. I have cable and I can get it up to 400kbps as long as the server is good. And on gigex, now gamedaily, my downloads say they're going at over 1000kbps, sometimes it hits 2000. But on torrent the highest I've seen is 30kbps.

Direct it to the same folder with the same file name and it should resume, not overwrite.
