Stuttering/Computer Shutdown

I had bought both Portal and Half-Life 2 a few months ago and am having the same continuous problems with them both.

I opened up Portal and five minutes into the first level, the audio stuttered for a few seconds, followed by a quick shutdown; No errors or blue screens included.

Eventually I messed around with the settings and the dxlevel enough for it to play properly, but on the next play it began again.


Also, in the opening scene of Half-Life 2, before Episode One, the same issue persists.

Update drivers, update Windowns, verify game cache, and post some of your specs, someone here will be able to help ya....

I'll put money on a dust blocked fan, probobly on your GFX card.
