Subscription Pending.

Has anyone else come across this and how long does it take to resolve?

I've had the same message come up. It's been up for a while now, when I try and close the wizard it wont let me, so I assume as soon as it's done it'll carry on unlocking the game files.

SO BLOODY FRUSTRATING!

EDIT: It's done, took around 30 mins...BYE!!

Yup. Exactly the same here, I'm having to use the network at work to register too, so they have 3 and a half hours to resolve it, this net verification was such a bad idea.

I guess Steam must be really busy, mine is comming up to an hour and still no sign of completing the verification.

I have been patient waiting for the game to release, but having the game in the dvd drive for the last 1hr 30mins and not being able to play because of this verification bollocks is a total piss take.

I know how to fix it. Try and run CS:S, it'll tell you that you haven't finished your subscription yet, but the Next button will become available on the Subscription box.

The subscription pending message took around twenty minutes to go away, now it's "unlocking half-life 2 game files"

I'm seriously going to think twice before buying any game that requires this malarky in the future.

Yeah because a few people out of the rest ran into a problem so it sucks. Everything has errors and bugs, but the point is the launch was a damn successfull one. Steam didnt CRASH, and for the most part it was pretty quick except for the unlocking of the 2gb (or whatever size they are) HL2 files. Hell, the bandwidth status didnt even get near maximum, it barely got past half.

I guess I'm the lucky one. Earliest I'll be able to purchase the game is friday, earliest I'll be able to play the game is a month away (Need a Modem and anti-virus software before hand)
