Sudden spike in Steam Usage (Content Servers)

There is a sudden spike of usage this very moment, does that mean anything...?

Make sure and videotape it. Valve can use the footage for texturing in halflife3

but the spike was long and big enough to upload ~870 mb of data in ~5 minutes. I don't know if an upload to the server would make and artifical spike in bandwidth like that, though. I don't know how the software charts the bandwidth stats. Oh well more rumors and a supposition to get the old heart going.

It's almost impossible to do it correctly through the mouth. I'd suggest the eyes. The nose has too much cartilage, which will hinder you and just make it really painful. As a side note, before you do it, put a lot of candy in your pockets. The EMT guys love that.

OMG like VALVe was like teh totally gonna ship to eveyr major retailer overnight shipping and it would probably cost more to ship than make the game

In regard to your other point, yes, I am being optimistic, 1. Because any sign of tangible HL2 activity is in my mind (and the mind of many others) bringing the game closer to our hands, and 2. Because I can excuse Valve for their goof-ups, sure they miss deadlines, but I can honestly say I sure as hell have missed many deadlines also (aka school...) - so for all those anti-Valve bastards, you really need to find something else to flame about, me on the other hand, I don't care if I waste one day by constantly checking to see if the preload has happened, hell I don't mind thinking that the game was going to come out Sept. 30, 2003, and sure I get a little (emphasis on "a little") irritated by Valve missing deadlines, but so what, look at the fans of Duke Nukem Forever, permadelayed...

So in closing, Valve thanks, thanks for making probably one of the best games I have ever played back in 1999 to even today. Thanks for the chance to Beta test an amazing game. Thanks for being Valve!
