Why?

And the colors are fine.

You can change back to the default style at the bottom left hand corner of every forum page. We can't guarentee this will stay forever though so it'd be wise to try and get used to the bluebird style.

As for URLs in people's usernames... in itself it's not a problem unless the website is advertising commercial services... I know of a particular username that's causing you to request this so I'll be sending him an e-mail later asking him what he wants his username changed to.

What's with the recent spate of advertisers recently?

It's not recent, it's been happening for a year.

No more than usual really...

As for my comment above, the guy with the web address in the username has already been banned, so it's all good :)

But I'd swear there's been more recently. :O
Nothing out of the ordinary i've noticed, nothing the guys can't deal with easily...no problems.

EDIT: Ignore, I know who it is.

Honestly, Half-Life 2 is one of the best games I've ever played. The story, the characters, the guns...brilliant.

doh
ok heres a few more
auto ban for joining to ask why ai is disabled
optional/no swear filter
bigger avatars
sports forum
politics forum renamed to politics and religion
ban for being thick
edit: and fix the goddamn clock

autoban for ai disabled -- No. They get their posts removed/closed and are warned that they're using a pirated version of the game. Also, I've seen the pirated version for sale over eBay so we don't want to go banning people who are inadvertantly using it.

optional/no swear filter -- No. We have younger people on the forum, and although a lot of the discussions here are occasionally more adult, we do want to keep a certain level of censorship in the swearing department. Also, there's plenty of more mature users that don't like excessive swearing so **** you. ;)

Bigger avatars -- Not at this time. They've been good at 50x50 for nearly 3 years, but making them slightly bigger wouldn't hurt, but they wouldn't get much bigger. Maybe 60x60

Politics forum renamed -- Noted

Ban for being thick -- No.

fair enough

thats why it would be optional, and on by default of course
the younger people post here argument is pointless imo. 5 year olds know what most swear words mean nowadays. personally i dont see why any swear word should offend anyone. hateful words are a different matter, whether they happen to be deemed swear words or not. i dont like how words like fag are used here so freely (no im not gay), same as i wouldnt like to see the n word being used. a ban on words like that would make a lot more sense than a ban on swearing i think.

anything would be an improvement but 60x60 is still a bit small. 70x70 would be ok

woot
Ban for being thick -- No.
:p

There's no way in the default build of vBulletin to make swear filtering optional. There may be a vBulletin hack, but the problem with that is whenever we upgrade the forums we'd need to wait for the hack to be rewritten/ported over. Then the choices would be to delay upgrading the forums which is bad from a security and functionality perspective or enforce the filter for everyone until the hack is rewritten/ported.

For something so trivial, it's not going to happen.

AI is disabled necessaraly doesnt have to relate to the pirated version because I used to get it when I would load my saved game on a custom map.
