Suggestions.

I have two suggestions.

1. Maybe having a Sports Section in the forum? I'm a huge fan of sports and like discussing it, so I was wondering if it could just have its own area.

2. I know it's called "Half Life 2 net", but could you at least add a Half-Life 1 section in the gaming area or it's own forum?

The reason why they have their own forums is that they were talked a lot, so much that it probably cluttered the off-topic section, making Our Dear Leader, Munro (or his various associates), add new forums.

That's because there was sufficient general talk in the off-topic area that creating spin-off subsections made sense. If you "cluttered" the off-topic forum with sports threads, you'd just get banned for spamming...

Perhaps it should.

Admittedly that's more 'hmm, interesting' than confused.

Anyway, new sections are created when it's necessary; when lots and lots of topics on a certain subject are started. If there were a load of people talking about sports all the time, then yes there would probably be one. If, however, it was just you starting lots and lots of sports threads, that'd be no reason to create a whole new section (the mods don't negotiate with forum terrorists :O). I have a feeling that most people here aren't typically the kind of people who enjoy following sports, this being a computer gaming site and all. Occasionally there are football (both American and English) threads but they're pretty infrequent.

Also: despite the fact that this is called the Half-Life 2 section, lots of HL1 discussion goes on in certain forums (notably Rumours + Spec and Mythology).

If you alone cluttered it, no, but I'm sure it'd be considered if there were a lot of people posting sports threads. I think that's how the BF2 sub-forum was created.

Demand and supply, there's not enough demand for a sports forum, so there's no need to create one.
