sunlight not responding entirely

For a while now I haven't been able to change my sunlight properties, nor the ambient lighting....

I mean I change them, but the lighting is always exactly the same in my map.

Any ideas why?

I cut the Ambient lighting value in half, but the shadows are still exactly the same.

ambient lighting comes from the skybox, i think. so you have to have skybox visible.
