Pittsburgh Steelers Vs. Green Bay Packers

As most of you may know, the big game is just around the corner. Post your predictions and thoughts here. You can even tell us how much you hate football, but only if you're fine with being stabbed multiple times.

Rooting for Steelers oh yeah.

Is this baseball or American football? I keep forgetting.

don't give a damn about the game really, except i live in pittsburgh so i'm excited to set couches on fire and shit when they win

On BBC again for Uk&Irl people. Might stay up for it again as I watched last year's game.

Sponsors, sponsors everywhere.

But they're not going to win...

Another year settling for a non-Redskins team. Go Packers!

I don't watch pro football, so this is just an excuse to drink beer.

The Packers, only because I'm obligated to.

I'm only watching it for the movie trailers and commercials this year.

Buuuuut, my fiance supports the Steelers so I guess I have to as well.

You should stay bored throughout the game and become all excited when the commercials come on. It'd be a fun contrast to her being excited during the game.

That's a sound plan.
I think I'll probably load up on honey BBQ wings from KFC as well.

I dont really like both teams. But since Im a cowboys fan gonna be rooting for the packers, can't have the steelers get another super bowl ring.

Being from PA and loving the city of steel that is 45 minutes away from me, I'm rooting for them.

Go Pittsburgh.

I just want to see them slaughter each other until there is only one man standing, and then I want him to fight a lion.

I don't like either team as well. But since No Limit is a Cowboys fan, I'll root for the Steelers. HATE HATE HATE Cowboys. Though, being a Giants fan, I guess i'm just a stereotype. Whatevers.

That's some random ****ing logic. I hate the Cowboys to death, but I am going all out Greenbay because:

A) They have a decent fanbase around these parts, and that fanbase is somewhat obnoxious.
B) Big Ben.
C) Steelers have won enough superbowls.

My logic, it's overwhelming you.

How is supporting an obnoxious fanbase logical? Yeah, well, I'm going to be non-conformist and root for the likely win, just because everybody else is rooting for Packers.

I slightly like Greenbay better, but **** it, not like I'm even going to be watching this bullshit.

Everyone who doesn't like football is European. They like futbol.

Uh, I said the Steelers fans were obnoxious, I'm not supporting them at all.

Builderburg funded tribal-instinct-envoker.

Your way of phrasing it is illogical! I win! Steelers win!

Damn, really thought I'd phrased it differently. I suppose I deserve this for not even checking it was written that way before posting the second time.

Go Banana!

So, who are the players we should be watching out for?

I'm guessing the QBs have some inspirational story or some BS.

Btw, I sometimes wondered why there seems to be few black QBs in the NFL. Seems to be a good few in the college game.

I played Madden once.

Do QBs usually have inspirational stories? I don't think I've ever heard any. Anyway, Roethlisberger gets accused of some sort of sexual assault every other week, but Rodgers seems like a pretty cool dude.

Well, Redskins always takes black QBs and then they end up disappointing us :(

I really could not care less about who wins, and the halftime show will be awful. Sot here is really only the commercials to look forward to.

I live in Pittsburgh but will not be watching as

(1) I don't care
(2) I need to study for my qualifying exam tomorrow :x

Well, I expected more enthusiasm to result from this thread. So be it. If you don't enjoy watching or living vicariously through grown men crashing into each other at full speed whilst trying to get a ball across a field, you can go watch the god damn Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet for all I care. But oh man those puppies are adorable, I have to admit.

I saw the first two quarters with some friends, and as a first-time American football viewer, I gotta say, Jesus ****ing Christ what a boring sport! The game stops every 10 seconds, with a two minute pause to follow. 15 minutes of game time takes one hour to get through. The first half of the game offered in total one interesting moment (the second touchdown); other than that it was just a big waste of time.

On another note, the Superbowl exemplified all the bad things about the American culture. It looked like some sort of bad parody that some propagandists in the USSR during the Cold War could've made up. The excessive nationalism, the machismo, and above all, the rampant commercialism (a Bud Light cam, really?). And I can never understand how countless millions of Americans can put up with having commercials starting every two minutes. During the course of the evening you see far more ****ing car commercials than you ever see any football.

There are far more commercials during the superbowl than there are during any other game of the year.
