For some reason, ever since i started ( then stopped ) the portal preload, TF2 is really bright! My frame rates are really low and the HDR option is missing. It appears that a really really bright bloom has been enabled on the maps. I've tried turning HDR and bloom off and tried verifying cache files. these have yet to work. can any one help me out.

intel core2duo e6300 1.86Ghz
2gig ram
ATI 2900xt

Its your graphics card, it just can't handle pre-loads :p

But seriously, I haven't heard of this problem, but if you go on the Steampowered forums you may find the solution.

The fact you even verified the TF2 file is even more bizzare, have you downloadsed the Sept28th patch?

shouldnt that stuff be in the options? if not then how about reinstalling?

dude i think hes right, your ATI card may be ATI but i think thats an old model isnt it? you should get a more up to date card, or try checking that the drivers are up to date. if still not, then i strongly suggest a new graphics card.

The 2900 is one of the newest cards from ATi. It is DX10 even,

oh really? well he didnt say the whole name whether it is an HD card or if it hass dx10, i thought it was older. but that is another thing, DO YOU HAVE VISTA, KACATION_MAN? if not, do you have dx9? and the right version which is: direct x 9.0c

I do not have vista or dx10 ( obviously ), however my card is a dx10 capable card, it is the newest ATI Radeon HD 2900xt 512mb( it has worked and should work for $400!!! ) I have take'n some screen shots to show how the brightness looks on 2fort. And to add, in my first post i had said my frame rates where low, however they show to be around a normal rate, however the animations are pretty choppy and i get a small lag spike every couple of minutes.

well it seems to have fix "its self". I deleted the Clientregistry.blob just to see if it would work, it couldn't hurt right? well guess what.. it actually worked. so yeah... thanks for those who err tried ( i guess they tried ) much appreciated. later, im gonna go play tf2 now. ( still getting a blank black screen at the end of maps though..

( oh and sorry for double post, though I'd let ya know it was fixed, not sure why, but i just thought i would )

me either, hope they fix it. along with those long respawn times and those super short last-cap times.

I so want a 2900. I have a Crappy 2600. My x1950pro ran better.

well cards like ATIs 2600 and Nvidias 8600 where not meant to be "uberpower" cards. Just because they are dx10 capitalize doesnt mean they are powerful. a mistake a lot of people make.
