So people, what's YOUR tunes to pick you up?
At the mo, I'm feeling crap so I'm listening to:
Jackie Wilson - Higher and Higher
Rolling Stones - You Can't Always Get What You Want
The Music - What's It For

But these are just the happy tunes I'm listening to NOW... there re loads more. Your suggestions?

<Opens floodgates for suggestions of Radiohead/Dillinger Escape Plan/etc.>

Underworld rez I dont know who mixed it.
starry eyed suprise Remix by Paul Okenfold.
Ready set go remix by Paul Okenfold.

I like.....dashboard confessional....i dont buy music. I live in Pennsylvania. I like black cars. Kitties are funny.

I like bad religion usually, and Stabbing Westward - Darkest Days is what im currently listening to

Supoer happy?

Go with "Come on eileen"! :)

Aaaah! Death to Dexy's Midnight Runners!!! Come villagers! Let us go and set fires and lynch the bastards... Huzzah!

That made me feel a little better:)

The Dillinger Escape Plan! They make super happy music! ;)

If I want to hear "happy" songs, I usually put on some skapunk (like Mad Caddies, The Suicide Machines etc.) or some punk ála Millencolin's early stuff. But almost all the time I listen to really melancholy and/or aggressive music. I love that kind of stuff. :)

And if it hadn't been for that truth, The Darkness, may never have formed. We are thankful.

Savoy Brown - Hellbound Train
Cars - Just what I Needed
Goldfinger - 99 Red Baloons
The Who - My Generation
Mason Williams - Classical Gas <- :bounce:

When I need to feel better, I usually put in some Dave. Live @ Fulsom Field is so amazing. But I usually do stick with more dark/melancholy bands. A Perfect Circle's latest album Thirteenth Step is AMAZING. I recommend this album to anyone who is open minded about their musical tastes.

I'm listening to The Queefs.

No, they don't exist, but it's a cool name 8)

Die artze - Liechenhalle

Rob D's stuff is suprisingly happy, given that the lyrics are always about death. :x

Actually when I'm unhappy I don't feel like listening to music at all .. only makes it worse.

Listen to Coldplay; that just brightens your day :) (j/k)

Hmm, how about Bill Withers--Lean On Me. Smashing Pumpkins is good too. Blue October--Calling You. Train--Drops of Jupiter.

That's about all I can come up with right now. I usually listen to sad music anyways, both when I'm happy and when I'm sad.

OK....right now ....all of you go onto Kazaa or whaterver file sharing thingy you have. And download Frankenstein by the Edgar Winters Group.

[Greatest instrumental ever]

That is one very awesome song. EWG kicks ass. Oh, lets not forget Alice Cooper.

Oh....and like I just said in the Doom3 post. Download TOOL!!!!!! Most amazing band ever.
Here's my short list-o-Tool songs to DL.

Third Eye
Forty Six & Two
Pushit (live, from Salival)

Sober (try and get some live versions, the "mother mary wont you wisper" part is AMAZING on some of the live shows)look for the live version that says "live acoustic", it isnt acoustic, just live.

Hush
Intolerance
Stinkfist

Faaip De Oiad (scaryest thing EVER, play it loud with headphones on wile in the corner of a dark room with a strobe light on.......you'd crap your pants on an empty stomach) (And its a real phone call too....just with added drums and scary sounds)

And last but not least
Triad.....the one from the cd is really good....but you have to hear it live. Every single live version of it kicks major ass. Some of the best drumming I've ever herd in my life. (its Danny Carey on his set and one of his friends on the roto toms) Look for the Triad Live with this date in the name or discription/ 2002-05-13

Aphex Twins + Flaming Lips - The Supposed Golden Path
Less Than Jake - The science of selling yourself

Ben Folds \ Ben Folds Five
Barenaked Ladies
PHiSH

are all pep-worthy =P

The Salival version of Pushit is so amazing. Their version No Quarter is the best Led Zepplin cover EVER in my opinion. My two all time favorties from TOOL are Third Eye and Lateralus. Both of those songs almost moved me to tears when I heard them live. I read, in an interview, that the strange sounds on Faaip De Oiad are one of Danny's old synths (he collects them) dying. So they recorded it and put that sample from the Art Bell show on there. It is very freaky the first few times you hear it.

The Flameing Lips

But normaly when im sad :( i listen to sad music :( so...

Radiohead
Muse
The Mars Volta

/me looks at Jerjerod's avatar

Jerjerod, I would've never guessed you like The Mars Volta.
