SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV

A poster known as Henaki of Team Spooky “leaks” out that Marvel Vs Capcom 3 will be announced this May. This insider also tips that a PC version of Super Street Fighter 4 will be soon announced.

Though the said poster has no solid evidence on any of his claims, he had won the belief of many gamers when he foretold the complete SSF4 roster before it was made public.

Ryota Niitsuma, producer of” “Tatsunko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars”, stated that a third game in the series would be appropriately timed about now, especially with Hollywood’s recent release of superhero movies.

Also, a “trailer” of the possible MVC3 is recently released in the internet. It shows Wolverine and Ryu in a fist fight, Morrigan seductively taking down Iron Man, and the Hulk hulking it out on the only new featured character, Chris Redfield, star of Resident Evil 5. One may also notice that the graphics engine in the trailer is very similar, if not the same, as the one used at SSF4. The trailer can be readily viewed at YouTube.

So what kind of grip do you guys use for your sticks? (MY GOD THAT SOUNDS GAY)

I'm using a wine-glass grip where you grab the ball of the stick from the bottom between your ring and middle finger as if holding a wine glass. It kind of ****s with my pinky knuckle if I play too long, but it's the only way I can get my moves without blowing an input.

I grip it from the left side. I mostly hold it between my thumb and index finger. It gets trapped in the web area between those fingers most of the time.

My stick is a... stick and not a ball, but I'm not sure I have a preference. On the ball type ones I still hold it sorta from the side.

Sorta like this I guess. (guy closest to the camera) Even though the stick on mine is longer, I still hold it at that height anyway. I guess that's why it doesn't matter as much if I use a ball or stick.

But I can hold it any way and do pretty well. Sometimes I prefer the underhand thing - similar to the 'wine glass' as you call it, to do a long sequence of dragon punches or [whatever].

I was wondering if there is any reason to buy SF4 if you already have SSF4?

SSF4 is just superior in every way. The existence of an SF4 vanilla saddens me.

Really. Don't you miss your specials sometimes?
Nah. I used to sit my old wood case PS2 stick on my lap the same way too, and my Dreamcast stick before that, so I'm used to it. It really doesn't move around a lot.
So what kind of grip do you guys use for your sticks?
Index and middle fingers over the top, thumb on the right side of the ball. The ball is mainly touching the second joint of my two fingers; it's not a "grip," just a very loose manipulation. This way if I need to slide my fingers down to the left side for something like a double tap, I can do it quickly and then return my hand to its original position.

I learned using the wine glass, though. Used the wine glass when I used to play Vampire Hunter; it wasn't until then that I really started getting a feel for the motions. I sometimes used an underhand grip if a machine had a corndog stick, but not anymore. Most machines don't have corndogs now anyway, and no sticks do either unless you mod it.

I tried playing cross before, too; right hand on stick, left hand on buttons. That didn't work out well.

Alright, time to fess the **** up. A long time back I read and wrote about some fighting game bullshit regarding some Soul Caliber and some Melee and Brawl, specifically in regards to the relative level of depth and difficulty of the games. I now know after a month or two of SFIV and the last two days of SSFIV that I had no ****ing clue what I was talking about. This game takes skills. No casuals need seriously apply to fighting in the street. It doesn't help that I'm using a ****ing 360 controller but there are no ****ing excuses. By the apple in my ass the learning curve to this game is like a combination arse-whisk sentient rape-robot.

But. None. The. Less. I will prevail.

I now embark on a quest to master this thing, this harmony of cunning in disc form. It will not be easy, it will not be nice, but THE SAIKYO ARTS WILL RULE YOU ALL.
Why has nobody touched this? One of the most important posts in the fighting game argument to date. Sheepo, take a good long look at this.

Christ, everybody is up my ass these days.

You think I'm messing with you? I'm on your side. You are a convert - someone who can testify that Smash Bros. Brawl is "not as deep or complex or challenging as Street Fighter." - something we've been arguing for years.

Let's get a lobby battle going sometime dudes. That way we can really get this stick gripping up assing thing going.

Yeah, we need to get some endless battles going. I still need to add you too, bam.

Man, I miss SFIV. My old roommate left with his 360 and I have nothing to play it on now.

I'll shoot out friend invites next time i'm on

alright guys i just thought id lay down some tips for yall so you can get better at the game:

Tips for beginners:

1)learn the shoryuken motion ASAP. When you play, do the shoryuken as much as you can, in particular the HP version. You might get called names but they are sore because you just beat them.

2)learn your characters ultra asap. When you are getting hit or getting up, input the ultra command. One missed move and you just ripped half their life bar.

3)throw. A lot. Throws beat everything in this game, execpt shoryukens.

4)constantly run away from your opponent and throw as many fireballs as you can. When they get close, shoryuken.then run to the other side of the screen.this is called zoning, a pro stragedy.

5)when you get knocked down, mash all the buttons and wiggle the joystic in all directions. Chances are you'll wake up with a move that makes you completly invincible and in fire. This is called pianoing your inputs. The pros do it all the time.

6)If you are playing against a non fire ball character immediatly run backwards against the wall. If they try to jump at you, either hit crouching HP or jump backwards hitting HK. This is called playing defensively and is another pro approved stragedy. As soon as you hit run to the other side.

7) forget crazy links and combos, jumping HK into crouching HK will win you many matches.mix it up with jump HK into throw if they block. This is called tick throwing, and combined with input lag online, becames a superior tactic your opponents must adapt to.

8) be random as hell. Do ultras in the middle if the screen. Do lots of unsafe moves for no reason. See good players pride in the "mix up shenanigans and mind games". The only thing is that those tactics only work when you have a "mind". By playing like a lunatic you take the opponent out of their game and force them to play you on your terms. They can't out think you if you are not thinking.
