Well sometimes in a relationship if the couple can't take it much longer..& that they don't want to wait until marrage to have sex then they do it.

Also there is a saying & it goes like "I **** on first date!"


If they are that deeply inlove they will do it if they want to. Eli wont stop her lol. Eli is pushing her to do it seems like.
 
This topic is beating around the bush. The fact is that Gordon is frightened of girls. He's just helping her out so he can spend more time with Dog.
 
im pretty sure it just made every male and female infertile like nuclear radiation does. not completely so, as once the field is down they seem to be able to get straight back to it :P I cant really imagine it as anything else, unless the combine make everyone wear force-field underwear.. :S
 
Well I hate to get technical about things but......I heard if you a guy that works with toxins, harmful chemicals, radiation & other harmful chemicals, Also if your not careful it might have some bad effects such as doing some crazy shit to the man's sperm...So for us it would be a risk to "Get busy." because your chances of getting a woman pregnant are very slim...Which I learned in child psychology today :cheese:.


So if Gordon wanted to live on the Freeman name with anybody...it would be kinda hard because he's a guy that deals with Harmful chemicals & such....it does'nt matter that he wears a special HEV-suit because it dpoes'nt come with a helmet.

I don't want to contemplate Vortigaunt reproduction. But that said they seem to be asexual.
 
100% of the vortigaunt population seem to be all male. They're all copies of themselves it seems.

They spawn out of the fabric of the vortessence itself turning into multidimensional no time constraint seeing creatures.
 
Yeah. Like dwarves. Who's to say that only Vorts recognize the difference between male Vorts and female Vorts? (Check Terry Pratchett's Discworld Dwarfs for more information on this concept. But to be brief... both sexes have massive beards.)

Actually in fifth elephant it is said that they can't tell the difference and that breeding is a long, compicated and embarrasing proccess. All dwarfs are dwarfs, not men and women.

I think vortigaunts breed by laying large, fleshy eggs... which are then later inseminated. However, for all we know, the vortigaunts can be hermaphroditic.

I wish the strategy guide chose better wording for its vortigaunt profile, because a hive mind is in direct opposition to what vortigaunts are. They are empathic, not hive-minded. Individual vortigaunts have their own personalities, it's just that being in continuous mental contact with every other member of your race leads you to think of yourself as part of a whole, rather than a singular entity. It's not hive-mindedness though because there is no suppression of self, and furthermore vortigaunts are not complete copies of each other because certain vorts excel in different areas. Some make better scientists than warriors, for example. Some are better poets and philosophers. Some know how to prepare a delicious headcrab stew better than their fellows.

Oh and, originally, vortigaunts had different voices.

Reading that gave me a wild idea. What if vortigaunts laid eggs that already had developing fetuses in them, but they had to give the eggs shocks to get everything going? Jumpstarting them, essentially.

Anyways, Darkside, I can say that is a plausible explanation, seeing how vortigaunts can manipulate the power, and can be seen for instance, powering up the generators in Black Mesa East, apart from dealing damage.

Plus, the absence of any reproductive organs on the outside suggests an egg-based procreation... as well as the apparent non-presence of sexual dymorphism.

They reproduce asexually, usually meaning they either cut off their arm, which grows back, and another vort is grown from the arm, or forts have both male and female reproductive organs and do it when they want. Of course, I dont think it would be quite smart to have to raise a baby (anyone seen a vort baby?) in a war-like envirement.

I am just wondering what the combine intend to do with the suppression field. Do they intend to kill of all humans by preventing them from breeding and then ransack earth for it resources then move on or is it just another way to oppress humans by making them depressed.

They were actually going to assimilate the human species, like the many other races they have conquered. Humans would then become part of their "Synth" forces. (This is also why the enemy are called "Combine")
 
Weird that all synth forces end up being that weird yellowish colour. Except the hunters. And the human synths.
