Now correct me if this sounds out of the realm of possiblity, but...

Does anyone else think Valve is actually planning on meeting the date? I mean, with all this talk of delay....they could slip that sucker in there out of nowhere. It would be mass hysteria.

I'm starting to think Valve intentionally started the delay rumors.

This is one of the theories I've thought of. They tell us that they are going to announce the game going gold, and then secretly ship it to Vivendi. They publish it, and when the 30th hits, BAM, we are hit with HL2 before we know it.

With all the HL2 fanatics out there, if someone sees a copy on the shelf, in the back waiting to be stacked on the shelf, on the truck going to the back of the store waiting to be stacked on the shelf, or in the factory being produced to get on the truck to go to the back of the store waiting to be stacked on the shelf, they'd post it.

A point to consider, checking out VUGames's Corporate news page reveals that all the release statements (in the first page at the very least) are actually declaring the games available in the shops on the same day as the statement, you should not find a "gold" statement in there.

I'm saying "should not find a "gold" statement in there" as I'll probably be proven wrong in a short while!

Yeah but that would be the day the "factories" get it, which is a day or two before it arrives. Then when the stores get it, we get it. So I don't see whay you're saying.

He's just saying that it's a safe bet someone in the retail HL2 mass production chain is going to come forward eventually with solid proof of existence.
