Seems after the recent attack on suprnovas by the RIAA, suprnova is saying their goodbye's

Greetings everybody,

As you have probably noticed, we have often had downtimes. This was because it was so hard to keep this site up!
But now we are sorry to inform you all, that SuprNova is closing down for good in the way that we all know it.
We do not know if SuprNova is going to return, but it is certainly not going to be hosting any more torrent links.
We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything.

Thank you all that helped us, by donating mirrors or something else, by uploading and seeding files, by helping people out on IRC and on forum, by spreading the word about *************.
It is a sad day for all of us!

Please visit ************* every once in a while to get the latest news on what is happening and if there is anything new to report on.

As we wish to maintain the nice community that we created, we are keeping the forums and irc servers open.

Thank you all and Goodbye!
sloncek & the rest of the SuprNova Team
www.*************

This could be a hack, but I doubt it seen as the site runs across many servers.

goodbye Suprnova, long live usenet! ;)

edit: link is blocked but is doesnt really matter as they no longer host to torrent files.

Its also funny that The Register just did an indept article about them.

Suprnova has half life 2 pirated torrent files, good riddance.

Yeh true.

I am part against suprnova because it is so easy. With it being so accessable it means that there are more people downloading that would normally buy stuff which really does harm music film and games companies in loss of sales, rather than just people downloading who wouldnt usually pay for stuff.

not dead, get eXeem beta, im a tester, so im fine :p

everything is superior to BitTorrent and all other p2p crap...its good that they closed down...keeps the kids of ze warez..

oh well, it was a crap site anyway. I'm off to ride the warez fantastic some place else you've never heard of...

I'll miss suprnova ... whenever I mised an episode of my fave tv series I could always download it and catch.

Infact I jumped on today because I missed last weeks BSG, only to find out the site was down :/ (will have to wait god knows how long to catch it now)

Ah well - it'll stop as many games and movies being pirated, which is a good thing.

dAM, that is sad.

267GB downloaded and 130GB uploaded in a year from that site. ;(

dam I HOP they return back...................
/me going to look for another torrents site. ;(

google is the best torrent site :p filetype:torrent

Still sems to be up for me.
I use it to download Brit comedy shows because it's impossible to get them region 1. I miss England sometimes :~
Currently getting SPACED season 2. I love Simon Pegg. Any Brits remember the old flu medicine commercial he was on? He was calling in sick to work whilst going fishing and he was saying stuff like "My arm...it's..wobbling" and a duck quacks and he's like "Somebody let the duck out!" then a cow moos and he's like "And the cow!"

It's surely only a matter of time before someone else comes along offering a better service though. I mean, did you see the kind of adverts they were getting on that page, there must be some potential in providing a service like that and if there is, soon others will flock to the gap in the market.

Now I'm going to have to wait an eternity to see the newest episodes of South Park!

According to everything I've seen this is because of the MPAA, not the RIAA. Get you're evil organizations organized!

Yeh, looks like I meant the MPAA http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9588_22-5490804.html

On a related note, some other websites prefer to take a different stance when threatened.

As you may or may not be aware, Sweden is not a state in the United States
of America. Sweden is a country in northern Europe.
Unless you figured it out by now, US law does not apply here.
For your information, no Swedish law is being violated.

Please be assured that any further contact with us, regardless of medium,
will result in
a) a suit being filed for harassment
b) a formal complaint lodged with the bar of your legal counsel, for
sending frivolous legal threats.

It is the opinion of us and our lawyers that you are ****ing morons, and
that you should please go sodomize yourself with retractable batons.

Please also note that your e-mail and letter will be published in full on
http://www.thepiratebay.***.

Go **** yourself.

Polite as usual,
anakata

I would give up Half-Life 2 for the return of *************

you know irc is more superior to bittorent? *cough* (PACKETNEWS)
lol
Yes, I just love hoping in a queue for 5 hours, only to have the XDCC Bot leave the channel, or while I'm in the middle of downloading.
Sooooooo unreliable.

I have no sympathy for people who don't buy things they use :-/

And I have no sympathy for people who buy over-priced software.
*cough*Windows*cough*

But not you h00dlum I take it?

no not me... :p honestly i dont download anything anymore, i have started making money now so i dont need too..

It is amazing that a community that is against the pirating of Halflife2 has shed so many tears and recommended alternatives to *************.

Yes, i have used it before, i downloaded Stargate Sg1, Atlantis, as well as Enterprise episodes from there, in that respect i am sad to see it go. On the other hand, the people on their were performing illegal activities, so why are you all bloody crying and moaning about it?

It isnt like SuprNova was the only p2p to distribute HL2.
-.-

This is great, because suprnova closed, I got links to a lot of other great torrent sites, this rocks. Now I dont have to buy games legally, oh thank god.

Yeah, TorentSpy's site is pretty nice. The torrents there don't have nearly as many Seeds as SuprNova had though.

Still, good stuff.
