What I think:
This confirms that what they had made in the first place was a totally shit game. They've realised it wouldn't live up to all the hype so decided to revamp it with DX9 effects and spend extra time trying to turn it from an average game into a decent one. The problem is that they're only creating more hype that they'll never be able to live up to, a la Duke Nukem Forever.

Yea honestly, don't base your opinion on alpha leaks. When alpha leaks get released to the public, it isn't usually a bad thing when knowledgeable people recieve them, but when retards start basing their opinion of the game around this un-finished version of the game, is when it really starts getting bad.
I'm kind of bad too though, I based some things around the HL2 leak, but it was all positive.
Here's a good way to go at it:
1. If it's really good on Alpha leak, it means it's closer to release probably, and it's a good game.
2. If it's really bad on Alpha leak, chances are it's just not very close to release, or it's a really old version of the game that's not finished, therefore should not be judged one way or the other.
So anyways, I'm just glad I found a game that I will never get bored of, and has already been released. No more waiting for me.

The mutated creatures did ruin Farcry, at first, I was pretty worried that they were strong, and I would have trouble, but then it turned out they were easy.

I dont think the game was delayed ...or at least this isnt a new delay ...a month or so back in an interview on oblivion lost the developer said they'd release the game after a 6 month ad blitz ...simple arithmetic proves that it couldnt have been released in 2005 cuz they havent started the ad blitz yet

Maybe its only me, but i liked the direction they were taking Stalker. I would like to fight mutated creatures, as long as they had sensible DMs. (IE hit the head/neck = it dies.) Farcry was crap game period. I hope that it gets done and is good. But, until then, ill just keep playing HL2DM and CS:S.

You guys are a bunch of hypocrites, you complain that BF2 is a buggy game and it was released way too early, then you have a developer willing to delay the game to make sure it has great polished gameplay and you all bitch? What gives? You people are impossible to please.

What everyone has seen of Stalker has also been promising, and now it is being made better.
It's not a case of switching engines or anything extreme like duke's been up to. They've already shown that there's a strong foundation and now they'll be building on it.
