Surprise!

Most likely wont be buying after the blops debacle. Though I'm interested in where the story goes.

Looks like they're revealing it next monday or tuesday to coincide with BF3's official reveal at GDC. I could not possibly feel more meh about this.

They're scared of BF3, and I have a feeling MW3 is not going to be stealing much thunder.

They should be scared. They've released the same game three times in a row now - there is about as much difference between Black Ops, MW and MW2 as there is between Madden 09, 10, and 11, if that. Each subsequent release is nothing more than a glorified map pack for multiplayer with a couple new features and a 4 hour singleplayer campaign of increasingly dismal quality and length tacked on the side.

Seriously, if you play through the COD games in order, the singleplayer gets steadily worse as you go on. COD and COD2 have great singleplayer, 3 was a craptastic negative outlier, 4 was decent, 5 was less decent, 6 was even worse and 7 was just flat out bad. The multiplayer is about as deep as a kiddie pool and the servers are populated with roughly the same people for whom kiddie pools are intended.

But the real sad truth is its likely to be one of the best sellers of the year and will push much of the innovative games to the side lines with its rehashed bull shit.

One of the best sellers sure, those football players need some testosterone based stupidity inbetween their group hugs. But let's not forget that this will be coming out at the same time as Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, (Diablo 3), Elder Scrolls 5 and other high numbered sequels as well. I don't think any of these games will be left sitting on the shelves in MW3's wake, if anything I expect MW3 to underperform relative to those titles. Not to mention there's at least 5 other titles throughout the year that are bound to perform well before this one arrives.

As far as creativity goes, the indie market is thriving. Sure, I'd like to see titles from smaller developers not being swamped by the big names and having the studios close down, but that's the state of the industry and the economy. The Call of Duty series and ActiBlizz in general sure isn't helping that problem, but I don't think we can blame the closing down of small developers entirely on them.

site didnt looked that profesional but stil enouhg to fool anyone since even the visual style is so overused too

The epitome of unexciting.

I wish they would just sell the single player campaign for like $30. That's all i'm really interested in.

Read that it will be a prequel to MW1, telling Ghost's backstory.

Who's even making this one? The butchered IW team?

Maybe that third studio that was working on a Call of Duty? Forgot the name.

Apparently its a collaboration between IW, sledgehammer and raven studios

MW2 was my first COD, then I bought Black Ops and realised it was exactly the same game, just with more lag. Why the hell people keep buying these is beyond me.

This. Why is Valve the only big studio that sells FPSs as just SP or MP?

IGN - 9.5 Game of the Year
While it doesn't bring anything new to the franchise, Call of Duty still retains its rightful place as the definitive shooter of our generation

It has IRON SIGHTS and REALLY BIG SET PIECES!!!!!!!!

You should definitelly try CoD 1 and 2, those are the only good ones in the entire series, as far as I'm concerned.

This. Call of Duty for me is the best world war 2 shooter ever made, and while the second was no where the same calibre, it was still a very good game itself. I do however think that World at War and MW1 were worthy titles too, the former brought the theater of war to the pacific and made a damn good job of it, was a breath of fresh air, while the latter was one of the first titles to bring Modern Warfare up front and at the time, I would also have considered it a much needed breath of fresh air.

All we have had since then is MW1.2 and MW1.3. The fact that they gave those games a name other than those titles is insulting.

Which one is the best for him, then? I bet it's your favourite.

This is what's wrong with the universe.
No, it isn't.
Your personal opinion, which we already knew had become objective fact, has now progressed to the point where it has become other peoples' opinions without them even knowing? I am in awe.

On a related note, the original COD's sp campaign is indisputably one of the finest video game war campaigns yet.

These days its

The Rest of the Gaming Industry > Call of Duty

CODs 1, 2 and 3 are the best in my opinion, after that it got retarded. Hopefully MW3 will never be released, as soon as West and Zampella win their upcoming court case in May and take away Infinity Ward's rights to make Modern Warfare games.

Wait, doesn't Activision own the rights to the CoD series?

They do. West and Zampella are pursuing contractual rights for the Modern Warfare branch of the franchise. They'll have Activision by the balls if they win that case
