Surreal Situations

I was falling asleep about 6 hours ago, and suddenly I could see what's beyond my right eyelid for a few seconds, and then I could see my own right eyeball from the inside.. creepy :|

I snapped out of it and fell asleep after about a minute.

well this is a sorta strange story, anyway, i was down the country 1 winter visiting relatives, i had gone out for the night with a girl i knew down there, my cousins friend, we had been in town and she was drunk so her friend said she would drive us back as i couldnt drive back then and didnt know the area well enough, so we were driving along this old country road, the only thing illuminating our way was the car headlights, there wasn't a house for miles, it was pretty late too, about 2am or so,

as we were going i saw something ahead on the side of the road,a figure, it looked like this person was waiting to cross the road but to what i asked myself, my friend in the back was asleep but the girl driving obviousy wasnt, the car drew closer to this figure and i got a glance at them, it appeared to be an old lady, she looked dishevelled and totally innocouos(sp?) to us, she didnt look at the car just stared directly across the road, i quickly looked across but couldnt see anything of significance that she would be looking at.

as we went by her i looked back and saw her cross the road almost trance-like, i was like 'wtf', i turned to the girl driving and asked her did she see that? she said "see what?" that woman i said, "what woman" she replied, "you didnt see that", "what" she said bemused, "there was a woman back there" i replied, she snigerred saying "how could there be, theres not a house for miles around here", i asked her to turn back and she did after some cajolling.

we went back and i got out of the car somewhat frightened but i needed to see where she went. i looked about a bit but it was freezing cold and the side of the road was overgrown with hedges. it was obviously very dark too. i was sh*tiin it so i said f-it and got back in the car, we drove on anyway, my friends friend not believing me and thinking i was taking the piss.

that was a surreal experience for me. the girl i went out with didnt believe me either, i didnt touch a drink that night either. the next day as we were going home we were driving along that same stretch of road during the day and i recognsed the place i saw this woman, i finally saw what was beyond the hedge, it was was a very steep hill but beyond that there were some old ruins, like a castle or something. obviously abondoned for years, was that lady going to these ruins? how could she get down the steep hill i thought? that was a freaky moment alright.

Ghost? Sounds plausible, if you believe in them.

Sometimes, when I'm halfway asleep, I'll start having lucid dreams about really random things like riding a bike off a schooldesk, eating a water bottle, and other such pointless events. The bike moment was especially weird, because after it went off the desk, I fell backwards off it and fell through the floor and down a cliff, and when I hit the ground in my dream, I bounced off my bed in real life.

I've lived surreal situations, but I can bother right now to find the best one. But once, my mom came home totally struck by what she had lived at work. She told us at dinner what had happened to her and she was damn serious:

She was about to quit from work that day. She walked out of her office, saw her co-worker and said good-bye. Then she was getting closer to the elevator when it opened. Inside there was the same co-worker my mom had said good-bye to accompanied with her friend. They were both struck at that moment. They said to my mom that the elevator stopped for a minute and started again. My mom, seeing that her co-worker was standing in the elevator, turned around and didn't see her where she had said good-bye two seconds ago.

My mom told me she was also feeling really weird at that moment.

It seems like there had been a major fault in the time and life causes the elevator to stop to correct it.

I have a countless amount of deja-vu. Once, I was trying out my roller-skates for the first time when suddenly, I felt that I've tried that before, even though I didn't. Then I had flashbacks. Weird.

Now you know why I'm called a phychic...

EDIT: There! There! I just felt that I've seen Jimbo118's post and wrote this before!

I have one in the vain of that Douglas Adams story.

It was a few years ago and I'd just broken up with my girlfriend. It was a kind of spur of the moment thing over MSN Messenger and she insisted we meet in person. So I agreed.

We met near some shops on a quiet road. We were sat on a bench talking about stuff and she started to cry... But just after she starts crying, a white van pulls up over the road. Its windows are rolled down and the driver is listening to some music. This music is really loud and he's playing Unbreak My Heart. Of all the songs in the world, that song. AND it didn't move again until after the song had finished. You wouldn't believe how loud this music was. I'm sure that someone did it on purpose.

Sometimes...actually a lot of times while Im taking a shower I cant remember if I just shampood my hair or not. I know its really ****ed up but I just kinda laugh at it in my head then just shampoo it again (or for the first time). Sometimes while Im shampooing it again I remember I already did. Funny shit.

Sometimes I fall half asleep on a long quiet trip in a car, and dream, but I can see things and I am aware of what is really infront of me. I can hear the radio and everything, then in the dream I just fall or hit something and I wake up and it freaks me out cause I didnt even know I was asleep. I just use the excuse that I had the shivers lol.

Kinda wierd to post this stuff on a half-life 2 forum.

Erm, please say you're not actually driving at the time.

Hmmmm sureal experiences, don't tend to get them that often, when i do it is usually self caused.
I have done some very strange things that are appealing to do because of their unique strangeness.

Btw the talk on the "out of body experience", i have had such feelings too, i always get them in interviews for things....i'm not too sure what causes it but it seems like the mind trying to shut itself off from the body or something, like deep thought.
I don't know if any of you have ever started thinking about something and you realise you are just sat there staring into space not taking in anything, usually it requires someone to call your name a few times and you "snap out of it"

So really it is just deep thought, it is possible to achieve it in "meditation" .....and i don't mean sitting in the lotus position humming.

I experience the same, just staring at something for prolonged periods of time. Alot of people get freaked, especially when some stupid chavs try to have a staring contest withe me... But I win all the time when I am in that state ;)

There is some times moments where I know exactly what a room or house looks like but I have never been there before, and when I enter the room my sight seems to zoom in and out on a particular object slightly.

I also experience deja-vu by the bucketloads.

I woke up and I saw my eyelashes.

Then realized that that's an impossibility.
Wha? I can see my eyelashes. Not clearly since they're so up close but I can surely see 'em.

Every time I go to sleep, when I wake up- all the pillowcases are off my pillows and I usually can't find them for a long time.

I almost couldnt believe it when I got laid for the first time....

I get deja vu sometimes, only it's not just the feeling I've been there before, but also that something's not right, or out of place, cant quite explain it.

Also, I think I may be having seizures at night. Sometimes I have weird distorted dreams where it feels like theres jolts of electricity are coursing thru my body.

Oh, Surreal experiences? Standing on a train staring out the window, and i walked out of the train, backwards, thinking i was walking out forwards. It was very strange.

We'd just broken up. And I'm class and no-one ever wants to spend time away from me.

I can't say I blame her...

shit sorry i misread it, i thought the girl on msn was a different girl, i was wondering why she would be crying.

I once woke up at 12:30PM, thought it was 6:00 (when i get up), and proceded to get in the shower... where upon i realised that is was actually 12:30...

And then my parents wanted to know why i was showering at midnight :(

12:30pm would be in the middle of the day. You are thinking of 12:30am :)

smart-ar.... I mean... Yes, thats right. 12:30AM :p

Thnx

I wake up very early in the morning for work, generally about 4:30am by my alarm. I had left the computer on one night, my computer is pretty loud with all the fans, and i woke up to this strange alarm and a loud humming noise, after a split second i thought the only possible reason for this was an alien spaceship, literally leaped out of bed and stood in the middle of the room for 10 seconds spinning round until i suddenly though.."it's my bloody alarm clock".

There was another time when i used to live right next to the railway line, i was awoken by a very, very, very strange noise and a very, very bright light shining right through the window. Again, i thought it was aliens but i just lied there in bed not moving and staring at the ceiling whilst listening to this noise. After a few minutes, i got up to look out the window, very nervous about what i was going to see. To my amazement, there was a load of very bright lights floating just above the railway line with some illuminous little men that seemed to appear and disappear into the lights. After a number of seconds and me trying to grasp what was going on before me, i realised that the floating lights and the noise were coming from a maintenance train that was repairing the railway lines and the illuminous people were workers. I also get the feeling of Deja Vu quite often as well.

Heh quite a few times I've dreamt that my alarm has gone off.. so I get up, get dressed, then realise that it's actually something like 4am and I don't have to be up for another 3 hours

Annoying
you wake up at 7? I have to wake at 5:30

Once I lay back in my bed, looking up at the stars. then I thought to myself, "Where the hell is my ceiling?"

Yes, I know it never happened. Shush.

I have some kind of weird thing going on where I'll sense things a moment before they happen. Only I won't know I sensed them until they actually happen, so there's really no way of knowing whether I'm intuitive or just slow :)

Like before, I got an text from mum saying she was coming home and did I want something from McDonalds. Then I thought to myself... wait a minute, was just thinking about hamburgers? Of course I thought nothing of the thought when I thought it, but then when I read the text it seemed significant. So... in a way there's really no way of knowing whether I really thought it, or if my brain is inventing the thought that I had the thought after the event happens, right?

heh she woke up at 8 this morning the lazy girl :p.. said she'd wake up at 7 to get me up (alarms don't work well for me heh) but hers failed too.. lol

I always get "psychic predictions", although i have pretty well figured it out as happening from simmilar actions.
It happens when i speak with family and friends you know the "how did you know i was thinking about that" sort of incidents.
I have almost worked out it is because of linked events, just say you and a friend experienced something like talking about a certain car after seeing a certain advert then if you see the advert again you may both start thinking about the car, when one says something about it, it seems as if you are reading their mind.

This is backed up by the way it happens more often to people you communicate more with.

The sub concious mind is extrememly powerful, i always try to tap into using it, your brain can do some amazing things, because of its complexity you can predict future likely events, like a weather prediction computer only a lot more powerful and directed.

One time i predicted a car crash momments before it happened across the side of a town, i suddenly was filled with the thought of a car crashing and where it was too, a few seconds later i heard a skid and then a crunch and i ran a mile to exactly where i had predicted it was.
Now i am not exactly sure why this happened, how i was able to predict not only there was going to be a crash but exactly where ( at that range i wouldn't have even been able to locate it from the sound that easily)
It could have been ultra complex predictions as stated earlier or humans could indeed feel electronic pulses from others, seeing the amount of electricity our brain uses, surely it must give out fields or waves.
And i know other animals are extremeley sensetive to electronics, who says we are any different?

haha I'm sorry :( damn alarms :p I need a new one
awww hehe, twas ok (I think, depends what happens about me paying on the same day). Managed to get to the bank on time atleast.. then spent hours driving around the countryside looking for a gardening center in the middle of nowhere* along roads with holes in them as deep asone of Garfield's female girl fantasy threads is funny.

*middle of nowhere turning out to be right besides the airport, kinda hard to miss really :)

Like someone else, I sometimes think I can change time using my alarm clock in the morning because I'm still not awake properly.
...and the other day, I was still half asleep and I was kinda just pointing at my watch, which was resting on the computer because I'd taken it off.
When my alarm goes off, I act a lot like this guy

I suppose my surreal moments usually involve sleep and/or phones

I can quite happily hold a conversation with someone and be asleep

I once got handed the phone while asleep and thought it was a pillow ??? poor guy actually stayed on the phone for 10 minutes while I was asleep until someone finally got me to wake up properly lol

And one time me and an ex were walking through a park, she walked along the path and I cut across the grass, and this middle aged woman was walking along, coming between us with my ex behind her. At that point all the birds stopped making noise, no cars past and the whole place was incredibly silent and REALLY creepy.. The woman threw a fit thinking we were about to mug her as I got closer and she realised my ex was behind her.. The whole feeling given off by complete silence like that was hard to explain. Happened another time aswell but I don't remember that one properly now.

I was walking to school once and i felt that i was in some sort of automatic mode, one foot infront of the other. I had no control, and i could see myself from behind me walking... feeling like everything is automatic. Im not what what it was but it really really felt strange.

I fell asleep in a math class once and just when I did I thought I heard someone call my name except it was in a deep voice.I woke up real quickly and asked a friend if anyone called my name and he said "no one did"...

I was like..."Holy shit!God is talking to me!"

Ether it was god/satan or I went insane for a while from the lack of sleep....

I watched an episode of Neighbours when I was sick once, and in said episode someone had lost their dogs. I woke up on the couch three hours later thinking I'd lost someone's dogs, and ran around the house in frantic delirium for half an hour looking for them :O

Pfft, that's nothing.

I once awoke late in the morning (being one of only two people in the house at the time), got dressed, went downstairs, had breakfast, returned upstairs, and found my room covered in a thin layer of recently extinguished matches. The place stunk of sulphur. There were a dozen empty matchboxes underneath the head of my bed, too. Took about two hours to clear up - nobody's really sure what happened that day.

Now that is strange, very strange.
*short recoil starts thinking how this would have occured, who would do it and why*

One time a few years ago when i was still in High School I woke up at 2 a.m. and started getting ready. I was thinking to myself, "Man this is ridiculous having to start school this early." It was about halfway through the shower I woke up completely and realized what I was doing and went back to sleep.

This proves my theory that everyone except for me is, in fact, a robot. Probally made to keep me company. I'm on to all of you...

Negative, i can assure you i am not a robot.

Hmm a few surreal experiences of my own:

This happened about 2 years ago, in the middle of the night I just woke up, jolt upright as if I'd had a nightmare or something. I layed back down and my beside table started shaking. I watched it for about 3 seconds until I just threw myself out of my bed and turned the light on. Feeling rather troubled, I just sat there for a bit thinking "What the hell?!" I didn't really get much sleep that night :|

This other weird thing has happened to me maybe 5 times in my whole life, and the last time I had it was maybe 6 months ago. I'll be doing anything around the house, when all of a sudden I'll feel like I'm doing everything twice as fast, I know I'm not, but it'll be like everything I'm doing is in fast-forward, and I'll start feeling strange and get chills down my back :| It's really hard to describe, but again - it's not a pleasurable experience :|
