i have'nt played CS:S for a while now, so i decided to go for a game...

but i have a strange problem.

even if i have 80fps the game seems to run like i only have 20fps.

cl_interp 0
cl_interpolate 0
cl_lagcomp_errorcheck 1
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_updaterate 101
cl_rate 20000
rate 25000
r_mmx 1
r_sse 1
r_sse2 1
violence_ablood 1
violence_agibs 1
violence_hblood 1

Please state the following :

-Processor speed
-Video card
-Ram Type & Quantity
-DirectX Level
-Taken the stress test before new update and after? What is the difference between the two?
-Have you ran a Spyware program to remove any malware/spyware/virus's?

athlon xp2600+
ati radeon 9600xt 128mb
infineon 1GB 333Mhz ram
directx 9.0b
no viruzes

stress test 70.97fps ( current )

u might want to get the latest direct x 9.0c and i think ur problem might be something else is using the cpu in the background and its causing your game to stutter or feel that way

You might also want to try to defragment your computer. I had stuttering once and so I defragmented, and it fixed the stuttering.

Also, you should try defragmenting after you get an update or add/remove large files, as not defragmenting can cause slow read times from your hard drive, thus causing stuttering.

is there any program for faster defragmenting? the one in windows is way too slow...

oh and i have directx9.0c...
