Swallow coins and die!

Well, I'm learning something new every moment I lurk here. I never knew such a disease existed.

Lol, eating coins. Thats a first, I seen nails, knifes, glass, metal bits but never coins.

it's his retirement fund :p

Guess he wasn't yet past the 'put everything in your mouth' stage of a 4 year old child. :rolling:

That dude should've gotten a job as a parking meter. Then he would have gotten paid for eating coins.

lol, I was expecting 50 max! or somewhere around there...but 350!?!?!

/me dies

edit: whoa, thats acctually a disease, I thought I was some guy muckin around:

The patient's rare condition is called pica, a compulsion to eat things not normally consumed as food. Its name comes from the Latin word for magpie, a bird thought to eat just about anything.

Pica can take the form of eating dirt, ashes, chalk, hair, soap, toothbrushes, burned matches and many other things. Francois once treated a patient who ate forks. Most such objects are small enough to pass on their own, but some must be removed by doctors

Oh dear thats kinda unsettling to know someone will eat a godamn fork, their life must suck..I mean what in the hell do you do on a date?

I wonder if every step he took was accompanied by a stange clinking sound...

On another note, I wouldn't want to be behind this guy when he farted... probably get killed by shrapnel...

OMFLOL

Thats a crazy story though, wow, it put his stomach between his hips, that must feel GREAT!!!111

So uh...If i were to swallow just 1 50p coin, im not saying i have but if i were to do it i wouldnt have any problem would i? I mean its not dangerious, not that i ever would of course i mean....heh, what kind of guy sawllows a coin?

That point about the farting is interesting, i mean seriously what does happen? Surely they must make their way through some time?

By the way....i feel greeeat. YEEAAAHHH!

No, I don't think one coin would matter. You might get green hair if it was copper, though.

Few thats lucky because it was a silver coin...i mean the hypothetical coin was silver. I never really swallowed a coin or anything.

Sure you didn't. "Silver' sometimes does the green thing too, though.

Meh. One coin. I wouldn't worry.

Actually i didn't, it was just a poor attempt at this earth emothion, "humour".

I swallowed a paperclip once... I was chewing on it and it kinda flew back into my throat and I involentarly swallowed.

Now before you are like, "Man you have problems!", At the time I was prolly 12 and had braces. I dunno what it was, but when metal touched my braces it had this wierd sort of metallic tangy taste to it. I dunno how else to explain it, but anyhow yea.

 But im 18 now and am still alive so, its all good and IFG

HAHA didnt I just see that on an episode of Myth Busters? lol

He can't fart. It said he couldn't 'move his bowels'. :)

It was a joke, anyway.

Deadline: I doubt it. We've done that experiment in chemistry. Over and over. I meant to say "Metals", anyway.

But damn... what if he could? Man that would be quite a dues to drop... heh $650 dues... damn if only I were so lucky to crap $650...

Hmmm....I have an idea... :p

The episode of mythbusters was about radiofrequency and the ability of it to travel through the fillings in molars. There have been rumours of people driving by radio stations and them "hearing" the music play in their head. They figured it was their fillings. The mythbusters job was to see if this way true, and of course they wouldnt be able to "Hear" the music, maybe feel the electric impulses through their nerve endings in their teeth if they had an extremly acidic meal prior. Either that or the person was a psyco and had a habit of "hearing" things.

Anyhow they did an experiment with a skull with molars and placed some sort of meter on the fillings as it was placed in viniger. They had a sweep radio I believe and they did see electronic impulses through the fillings when it was in vinigar, but not the other, less acidic, solution.

but anyhow, it would feel more like morse code than acual music even if they could
'feel the music'

Well, in one of the last "weird things" threads we had on here, I think someone claimed that it happened to them. I think it'd rely on specific condition that would be hard to set up in the lab. There could be a piezeoelectric component.

A what? piezeoelectric component?

Short version, electricity in some materials can actually cause them to vibrate by contracting and expanding rapidly. This is how a piezeo buzzer works.

Ever seen that guy called Steve or something who can swallow coins, goldfishes and huge billiard-balls and then cough them up again? He's ****ing amazing!

Who me? Erm, no... i never had the request for a video before.
But next time i'll do it, i'll record one just for you coolio2man.

How about that French dude who can actually digest the stuff? He's even eaten a Cessna!

The fuselage, or the whole thing, including the engine?
