Decided a thread was in order since there's a lot of talk about it in the Rate Your Last Game thread.

Anyways, I just installed it and the expansion so if anybody wants to play hit me up on Steam( [email protected] ) or xfire ( xlucidxassemblyx ).

I have it put I can never get into it, the AI can be really ****ing dodgey at times.

Wow, just tried playing on 3 servers.
Every single one of them basically had everybody nade spamming.
Flashbangs, rubber ball nades, tear gas nades.

And two of them had people with wall hacks, getting shot through doors and the like.

Sigh, guess it's changed since 2 years ago when I last played.

Yeah, but the CO-OP servers that are there are a bit on the laggy side.

I played Swat 3 SO much. I loved the hell out of that game. Oh wait, what? Swat FOUR you say? The demo was alright. Worth buying?

I wish there was a remake of swat 2. I loved that game, even though it was kind of crap.

I'm stuck at 20% of the install, it continues to say it has failed to fully install, then closes.

Err... I don't think SWAT is really the type of game you want to play in DeathMatch setting. There's plenty of other games out there that would do that mode much better.

The star of the show is definitely the co-op mode. It's also better when you play with someone you know, whether it's Hamachi or Lan. If HL2.net wants to do a SWAT4 game, I'd definitely recommend doing it in co-op mode.

Restart computer, take out the CD and clean it, clean your CD drive, dust out your computer, etc

Just clean the CD off and flew through the first 15%

Stuck at 23% now

Heh, it's what I grew up in, lol

The smaller maps are indeed filled with nadespam, but that's the least of your worries; there are spots where you are virtually unnoticeable, but still have a wide firing arc. Sucks to get gunned down by those guys. The bigger maps are very, very fun.

roughly a third the way through, the files get incredibly slow to install, and then I get an error message

I actually got the erroneous install when I tried installing the expansion, or the patch even.
Told me my game was an invalid install, so I just uninstalled it then reinstalled and it worked fine.

Meh.

Torrented version + crack also works perfectly fine in MP, I used the 1.1 crack to play with Krynn yesterday (I'm too lazy to put the CD in each time)

Got a new copy, trying to install now.
Raced through the first 30%, slowing down now at 37% but I won't give up since its already made it farther than the first copy.

EDIT: It's starting to pick up the pace at 59%, but still not going to fast
I fear it may freeze/crash/fail at any time.

Just leave it alone until asks for the 2nd CD, don't do anything else while installing.

This is a different copy, I almost finished last night, but my PC went into hibernate will I went out and that canceled the install, just started it again about an hour and a half ago, actually going kinda quickly now.
