It's in swedish, I'll give a full translation later maybe.

Some stuff there is old info, but among the new stuff is that they're aiming for the game to run smooth on ATI 9600 och 128 Mb RAM-computers.

Apparently Marc Laidlaw wrote a 1000-page "Bible" on the HL universe after the first Half-Life (Man I'd kill to get a hold of that book), so there's plenty of stuff to tell.

The allied characters will respond to Gordon's commands differently depending on how he's handled previous situations.
EDIT: And they'll (if you have more than one ally with you)also respond differently to EACHOTHER depending on how they have handled the situations so far, w00t :afro:

Gabe Newell also says "We'd never be able to do the stuff we're doing with the Half-Life 2 engine with for instance the Quake 3 or Doom III-engine. "(Even more advanced than the Doom III-engine, take that! :p)
He also says that they have a well established relation with John Carmack and the rest of ID.

There will absolutely be a Half-Life 3.

They'll have a long vacation after they ship HL2 and then they'll continue working on TF2 and start the work on CS2. :)

EDIT: Apparently they got to play the game but that's covered in the paper version of the magazine, I'll see if I can get a hold of that one. :monkee:

So CS2 is confirmed? Or have I missed that announcement?

I don't think it ever has been confirmed, but Valve have mentioned it a few times.

Hmmm... bible..heh

"In the beginning...."

For me, it does.
At little bit slow, but it works.

I really want to see in-game model of this female assasin they show in the concept art.

Still doesn't work for me ;( . I will try again later though, thanks.

Translating the entire article now, I'll post it pretty soon.

Love it how its always a foreign gaming site/magazine that visit valve. Then once they put up the preview everyone uses Babelfish on it and spreads rumors like crazy because of Babel's horrible translation. So wait, Gordon is Alyx's COUSIN!?!?!?! G-MAN IS GORDON AND ALYX'S KID!??!?! WHAT!!??!

Have my babies.....

by babies i mean.... pie.

Erm, by foreign you mean what? To me the USA is foreign .. hehe
Perhaps you mean they speak a different language? And even then, it's not their fault they can read their own language whereas you have to rely on a translator :p [Rant ends. If it sounds like a flame, it's not :) ]
Hmmm, we should all speak Esperanto, methinks

Meh..Esperanto

Too little speak that..

Even if everyone learned it, it would take years to convert everything...

You should join the GAG, Gamers Against Gamereactor. Now i don't know exactly about the swedish version of Gamereactor.

But i do know that the danish version of gamereactor is actively:

Ripping other sites news, articles and images
Violating copyright laws
Almost violating copyright laws(They're hiding it behind their service which you pay for so it's in a grey area that companies doesn't dare touch)
Trying to hide the fact that they do so by banning users.

And this is no shit, i got Codemasters legal department to investigate it actually. And it turned out most of the copyright violations are legally protected by their service.

Anyways back to the interview.

It doesn't seem to have much new information, I think it might be a blend of the old interview published on the danish gamereactor, and then a blend of some questions on E3 probably.

The only interesting part were the bible thing

Esperanto? OMG!
Why don't let everyone learn 2 out of 3 languages.
So everyone could understand everyone.
My favourites would be english, japanese and german ;)

You know....they all point to the Alyx Face-Poser image...

i hate it when i'm subjected to waiting for hl2 news........

I swear ive seen that image of gabe before , i mean how many times could he do that same pose!
Yeah exactly my point it seems like the old interview but with new questions. Probably from E3.

Mostly cause i believe i've seen Gabe with that Gamereactor magazine before, and because Doug Lombardi seem to have much more hair than at E3, and also because it seems to have been posted at E3 where they obviously couldn't have been at Valve.

you sick son of a.....

The most interesting quote I found was this:

"Vi skulle aldrig kunna göra det vi gör idag i Half-Life 2 med exempelvis Quake 3-motorn eller Doom 3-motorn."

which means:

"We would never be able to do what we do today in Half-Life 2 with, for example, the Quake 3 engine or Doom III engine."

Doom III? Oh dear, it's the physics, materials, facial expressions... what else is missing in Doom III?

That HL Bible thingy would make a sweet extra for the collectors edition. I'd pay the extra just for that.

Ya but they would have to do some major censorship to make sure it didn't give away any HL3 spoilers.

Still it would be sweet to see!! :smoking:

Vehicles, huge outdoor environments, flexibility, and probably some other things too. Doom 3 isn't an engine built around gameplay, it's designed to look pretty. Source is the exact opposite (although it still looks quite pretty).

I'm about to post the entire translation, check the first page in 30 secs or so :)

EEEEEEEEE Thanks, Won't have to rely on babelfish. :p

I'm kinda curious, since all this bashing of carmacks & Id's engine is occuring - even before you know all its capabillities....do you guys know something i don't about this engine.

Granted it is'nt the most perfect in the world, i've heard that its incredibly scalable - and it does support large outdoor terrains - this was (so i've heard) tried with the alpha leak build from 2001....outdoor terrains actually work perfectly fine if used with baked/static shadows for the terrain (not models).

Sorry if i deviated a bit from the topic here - i dunno why all of sudden ppl think the d3 engine is the worst ever.....you guys should be glad that we get 2 kickass games this summer instead of just 1.

Be happy :D

ID Games has more been a tech demo than a game. I haven't seen any ID game with a noteable storytelling.

Other than Return to Castle Wolfenstein which were Raven software anyways.

You know i was'nt talking about the bashing of the story, just the tech - read my reply again....since you obviously took the time to quote it.

Btw so let me get this straight - by your past experiences, because Id have made near-tech-demo games in the past years....you can't assume its something different this time - like with hl2 you have no idea what its going to be like to play...
