I was wondering about how much people listens to Switchfoot, and what their favourite songs are.

I like the songs:
Chem 6a
New Way To Be Human
Meant to Live


I love the band, its almost completely different from the other songs I listen to, and it has a unique sound.

Ehhhh, too Christian for me. Not to say there aren't talented Christian artists (Sufjan Stevens, Discover America), but Switchfoot doesn't do it for me. Meant to Live was catchy though.

They're another band that started Christian and, after they gained popularity, ditched that gig and went mainstream. Same with Thousand Foot Crutch. I hate these bands. I'm not an avid Christian myself, but that's really shitty.

I thought Meant to Live was ok. Dare You to Move was kind of irritating, and not just from being played on the radio.

Strangely.. almost everyone I know tends to list Switchfoot among favorite bands. Maybe that's because I have a lot of friends that listen to Christian music. I always found it odd how they'd list Switchfoot and Lifehouse among favorite bands, but not other groups that sound similar. It's almost like they listen to it mostly for the Christian association instead of the music itself. Interestingly, Lifehouse gets a fair amount of attention as being a Christian band although they have mentioned before that they didn't mean to be "marketed" (can't think of the right term here) as one.

Perhaps, but I don't listen to it for the Christian association. I'm Christian, but that doesn't mean I'm very religous.

I also listen to their older albums most of the time too.

I bought one of their CDs because I liked a song or 2 and was hoping the rest would be good. I ended up hating the 2 songs I liked and the rest were crap.
