So after the drama documented in this thread I reinstalled Windows 7 on my computer. It's not perfect but it's working alright. To stop me having so much trouble if and when it goes down again I'm wondering what would be the best way of synchronizing folders between my computer and an external memory key. I would just use dropbox but my college wireless doesn't allow any programmes other than browsers to access the internet, so it would be useless there.

I just want a programme that'll let me synchronise some folders.

Any? Not even Steam?

You could always set up a proxy over an open port. That's what they get for being asshats.

Asshat [Ass Hat] (Plural Asshats)

noun

Definition:

A person/s who wear ass as a hat, e.g. The entire Bush administration, Tea Party, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh and the entire Fox Network staff.

Yeah. I assume they don't want people wasting their bandwidth downloading terabytes of porn and pirated games though the college's internet. I don't blame them. They do give us unfiltered internet which is good enough (I know of some colleges that block). I don't know how I would go about setting up a proxy and I'm not too bothered by it at all.

I'll have a look at that programme shamrock, thanks.

You could also write a small Robocopy script that you could auto run on plugging in your USB stick
