I ripped my CDs, since I absolutely detest changing CDs

I can't wait until their new stuff comes out, some are saying it should be around the end of summer. So maybe we fans will have hl2 and a new system cd to listen to while fragging :) that would be sweet

Coincidence?

I saw SOAD live at Reading, they were amazing!

They are my favorite metal, except for the funk metal awesomeness of RATM.

Big fan of proper punk, like NOFX. AFI are tools but that's ok.

Listen to some Black Keys, they rock.

As far as metal goes, I really prefer dagonforce and hammerfall to anyone else. They're great.

I love them, all-time favorite. I'm well-rounded...Zeppelin, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Control Denied, Death, New Found Glory, Maroon 5, Matchbox 20, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Bad Religion, etc.

* Shuzer is listening to Streamline this very second

Streamline was originally for the Scorpion King soundtrack, the version on that and in Steal This Album are a bit different. Also Metro was used on Not Another Teen Movie and Dracula 2000, and songs like Innervision were downloadable from Kazaa for ages before they released them on Steal This Album, but again the album versions are a little different. There's another obscure album of b-sides and covers/collaborations from SOAD aswell, but I'm pretty sure it's not official.

Anyone ever hear Snowblind? That's my favorite SoaD song.

It's a Black Sabbath cover :) I have the original song on vinyl, it's much slower so it goes for like 5-6 minutes. Pretty good but the SOAD version is a bit funkier... can't go past Ozzy for vox tho.

SOAD and RATM are both really awesome live, but both are known to thrash all their songs. Tom Morello and Daron Molakian **** up so much live it's almost a joke, but it's still fun to watch (saw a video on a mates computer once of Daron playing with a drink bottle :D).

man, toxicity is the best album of [whatever year it was released]. i played that mother-effer to death.

While I love Zeppelin, Floyd, Priest and Sabbath I do think you have to move on and appreciate more modern music. You can't be stuck in the 70's forever :).

GO ZEPPELIN COVER BANDS!!!

Phft, Screw Zeplin, screw system of a down, screw even Rob Zombie....
INDUSTRIAL ROCK LIVES!
You will never turn back!

This is my trip In music life I took. Back in thea old old days playing games like test drive 2-3 and Test-drive offroad I was introduced to a genre of music called INDUSTRIAL and the band Gravity Kills. I fell in love with it and even recorded The games songs from the TV screen onto a tape recorder tape lol. Shortly after I discovered this thing called the radio. I listenend to stations that played stuff like Godsmack, Pod, ext...SOAD lol, what a joke, well at the time I liked it.
Then from there I discovered this artist named Rob Zombie and I was like man this is pretty cool And with him it kicked off my search for unique music. I was like 16 at the time. Then I discovered this late night radio show for only death metal and although it was kinda cool, it was just kinda lame because death metal tries to be hard and there is not much skill in screaming about death :| But but then oneday I heard this band for the first time playing on that station and I fell in love instantly, they were called FEAR FACTORY. Although many will say they arn't really industrial, one thing for sure is that they were different(not to mention the band has the fastest drummer in the world). Well anyway, The european flavor and mood that hit me with Fear Factory openned my mind into other things. I was soon listenning to stuff that sounded like a mixture of metal but without all the screaming and mindless lyrics. At this same time though I was discovering such bands as Deftones and NIN and stuff. After discovering this thing called File sharing :E My music world changed forever. I was listenning to some of the most hardcore rock ever created back in my hospital days (stuff taht made Rob Zombie look like a pussy)and when I finally snapped I suddenly got a taste for techno :| Its like you have reached the climax and fall down the summit of harcore a little because you have that been there done that appeal. Anyway I was listenning away from techno and it got very repetitive after a while. I soon discovered that there was different kinds of techno such as trance, electronic,Dark ambient,E.M.B ext.. And low and behold I discovred a genre called Industrial metal/Rock. So basically its rock like SOAD only its on crack with a taste of techno. Try RAZED IN BLACK for taste.

Eh but I also listen to just about anything including classical so this whole story doesn't really make sense.

You have not heard Morbid Angel.

Edit - Oh, you don't like death metal. Never mind :)

bah, badhat, why couldn't you let this topic die?! ;(

meh, dragonforce and hammerfall are still the only metal I like :|

Industrial is good, but a lot of it is very cold and mechanical (no brainer). It isn't something you can listen to all the time. Sooner or later you need to listen to some Lacuna Coil, or A Perfect Circle, Tool, or even Rival Schools. Something more organic. Though I like that some industrial-flavoured bands like Marilyn Manson and Fear Factory actually tried to do something a bit more emotional.
