Anyway, my system is total crap, here's the specs:

- (dunno what the hell my mobo is)
- 333mhz Intel Celeron
- GeForce 2 MX400 (32mb)
- 386mb RAM
- 20gb HDD (dunno the rpm)

And I don't think that'll run HL2... :( However, I'm saving my cash and (if) I save enough I might be able to get

- ECS SKT A 8xAGP DDR400 USB2/lAN ATX With Card Reader Motherboard
- AMD Athlon XP2400 (2.0ghz)
- Sapphire Radeon 9600 AGP x8 128mb
- 512mb DDR PC2100 RAM
- 60gb 7200rpm HDD

However, I've only got about £135 (yeah, I live in England) at the mo, so I'd better start saving... and fast.
 
you could run Codename: Gordon at about 15 fps.. maybe..

err sorry i have a tendancy to read only the first few words of posts... your old system=bad.. new one =pretty good.. no ECS plz
 
dont get a 9600..see if you can get a 9500 first, its alot better
if you cant, then a 9600 is the next best thing
 
I am probably going to get an ATI9800 just for this game. Right now I have a Ti4200 tho which isnt horrible, but I could use the extra power.
 
9700 is just fine, the xtra money does not justify the orice difference

- The 9500 has been discontinued in most stores, and if it is anywhere then it is expensive.

Well Ender, I wasn't after a mobo that supports Pentuim. I was after a Socket A mobo. But cheers anyway...

LOL! Sorry for the confusion.
My current comp has an Intel Celeron. I plan to get a comp with an AMD Athlon XP2400.

Oh, and I need to buy an entire new system (with monitor, etc) because the current comp is a family one, and my parents don't want it upgraded for some stupid reason. So that is why I'm on a tight budget. I wanna be able to play HL2 the day it comes out after all...

amd xp 1700+, 512 ddr , rad 8500le 64mb win xp and he told me i should be fine running the game smoothly.
