Tactical Speed Tricks

So me and my friends are preparing for this year's Half Life 2 Speed-run.
I have no doubt I will emerge victorious, once again.
But to make things more painful for them and make my time even smaller I found 2 tricks.

1. At the first boat drop-point you can, from a certain angle, shoot the barrels you need to make the gates be crushed open. This tricks gains me 5/10 minutes.

2. At the second boat drop-point I can jump over the fence with the help from some grates, evading the whole scene inside the "factory". This tricks gains me 10 minutes.

So my question was, how can I decrease my time even more with these kinds of "TST's"?

Thanks for the link but those techniques are not allowed.

And I am a contender in this sessions because Half Life 2 is one of the best games ever made and I keep having alot of fun on runthroughs.

For anyone remotly interested:
I finished HL2 first in 5 hours and 3 minutes, I have beaten the previous record with 6 minutes.
Pretty neat :]
