Does anyone know how much a real Assualt Rifle/ Pistol costs?

Why yes, my friend, I do!

Here in the good old US of A, a Romanian AK47 will cost you right over 300 bucks. An AR-15 (civilian version of an M16) is upwards of 500 dollars. An M1A is around 1000. A Glock pistol will probably be 300-400. You can find deals for any of these, though, or you could get fancy versions, but those are pretty basic prices according to my research. Mind you, a fully automatic version of any of those is way illegal unless you get a bunch of permits or something, and way more expensive. But hey, it only takes one bullet to kill someone.

Oh, and all the toy guns in this thread make me laugh. :(

Also saying 'lol you suck I have real guns' is silly because you're not allowed to shoot people with them.
Yes you are, if someone is threatening your or someone else's life or real property.

:O *plans world domination*

Wait, A pisol costs more or equal than a AK47?
Thats weird.

Well, the craftsmanship on that GLOCK far surpasses the stamp-and-cut method they used to make that AK47 clone. A 'real' AK47 from Russia would be a collectors piece worth more than 1000 dollars, but only because of rarity. Keep in mind AKs are meant to be mass produced, super durable weapons, not some top of the line marksman's rifle.

Well, then, what pistols are mass-produced like the AK47? Or is the AK the cheapest weapon ever?

Yeah, from what I can tell, it's really just the cheapest weapon ever... It's super simple (you could learn to take it apart and put it back together in 5 minutes) so there aren't too many parts, and that also makes it very reliable. I think pistols are always gonna be in the 300-600 dollar range, but I've only checked out the GLOCK so far.

Ok, lets not get into the debate which is cooler.

Its quite easy to like video games, be in the army, play airsoft and not want to murder someone. Take me for example.

Also, folk in the UK dont quite have the easy access to firearms that the US have, and i'm willing to be I have more fun with my airsoft rifles than you do with your real ones as thats the whole point in them.

One thing I don't get about the U.S. is why you have to have orange tips on all your airsoft weapons when you can have real ones that dont :)

Because the Airsoft ones are considered toys (which even if you love them I'm sure you will agree with; I don't mean to knock what I'm sure if a very fun game), and if a child were to point a replica of a weapon at a cop, and that cop had no way of knowing it was a toy, he would be apt to shoot that poor kid. (It's happened ;() It's pretty much a means to distinguish toys from weapons, and it makes sense, really.

You do realise that if the Government has its way with this Violent Crime Reduction Bill we could have the sale of airsoft weapons banned.

Not to mention the more lenient option is to colour all the guns a bright colour so people know they're a replica?

Forgot that bit :p

So are Airsofties actual size and weight? How much do they cost? What comes out when you pull the trigger? Are they full auto where applicable?

I supose that makes sense Houndeye - here in the UK, Scotland atleast, our cops don't carry guns so they don't have the ability to make a reflex judgement like that, other than run and hide :)

And yeah, they are toys, which is why they are fun and why I love airsfot ;) I go training with the army every second weekend and I honestly have more fun at airsoft than there.

The Army isn't supposed to be fun, boy! Drop and give me 50!

EDIT: Cops without guns? What do they hurt people with?

Nice Venmoch. My mate recently got an extended barrel for his G36K, accurate little beast now.

What you running your G-Spec at?

Houndeye - most are 1 - 1 scale, but you do get cheap 1/2 scale ones. They also weight about the same as the real thing, unless the real thing uses wood as most airsoft weapons dont use real wood.

They cost around £200 for rifles (electric) and £100 for pistols (gas) - All can be full auto where applicable but 3rd burst isn't something that's been achieved yet, although people do make little chips that you can put in that does it :)

They fire 6mm ball bearings (BB's) made of plastic usually weighing only 0.2g but snipers often use heavier ones to make then less effected by wind.

I know the army ain't meant to be fun - if anything i go to keep fit :)

Cops hurt people with derogatory language like "Oi you, your a git" :D

They usualy just hit you with their night stick and cuff ya - remember there isn't the fear of getting shot at ;)

How do people suffice without complete head protection? Doesn't it hurt? A lot? I mean the chance of a BB hitting your face isn't that small right? I'm going to be buying a full face mask thingy.

Not really. Besides once you've walked back to the Respawn point / Safe Zone the pains gone.

You can go ahead and say that about the people who own real guns, but airsoft is NOT about that. And if you think different you can go away until you try it for yourself instead of acting pretentious.

I have a airsoft gun then I have my real weapons, An 22, a 410 shotgun, a 30-30, an 30-06, and a 1861 Springfield 58 cal musket, Use to have a Glock but my brother sold it :(

This thread has left me seriously dissapointed.

Either way, it looks very nice. I know little about airsoft, never played, so hope it works out and leaves you more stylish then the rest on the field :D
