What kind of a game could you possibly make with it?

Oh crap... It better not be another tycoon game. Only thing I can think of it being aside from that would be a childrens adventure like the Harry Potter games.

wow.. a lot of good movies/books are being made into games latetly, Jaws, Scarface, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory..and whats said is, they will all suck, why dont they ever learn and just keep movies as movies and games as games.

Its a lack of ideas and a desire to play things safe thats resulting from all this, plus companies like EA have probably been getting these licenses cheaper now since Hollywood sees these games as advertising that people pay them for.

Too bad the only movie company that seems to realize that bad games hurt them is Warner brothers. I read in a PCGamer a few months ago that they are enacting a policy where if a development company releases a Warner Brothers licensed game that recieves an average rating that is lower than 70% from major reviewers that Warner Brothers will seek payment for damaging advertising.

Thats a pretty good idea providing Warner stick to it and if others follow, and providing the damages are in the millions, just to really scare the rubbish devs from even thinking of bidding for the rights to a movie if they realise they could risk losing everything.

I hope more do that.

I wonder if it will be done in the style of Hidden and Dangerous? :p
It'll end up a FPS where some chocolate virus has taken over all the umpa lumpa's and you have to run around shooting them all with wonka candy bar bullets to make them good again.

Just you watch :)

Um i've never played Charley and the chocolate factory... what kind of a game is/was it?

It's not a game yet. It is, however, a book by Roald Dahl, and a classic movie based on that book.

It's not, its a film based on a Roald Dahl book

http://www.roalddahl.com/

Tim Burton is making a new one, supposedly darker and closer to the original story. The only other film that was done was quite a few years ago with Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. It's a really good book/film, Burtons should be a lot of fun, but a game is probably doomed

How would there be a game for it? What to do you, kill Ombalomers (spelling???) with a candy fireing gun?

Haha :p I don't know nothing about it, and I thought it was a gams since someone said something about it being a movie license, so I thought it was a game, since why else would you say it's a movie license if there couldn't be any other options?

Doesn't sound too promising.

If they'd given it to Nintendo, that would be exciting :)

Damn, I hope Burton goes on to make the sequel, too... CGI Vermicious Knids could be scarier than the Xenomorphs :E! Oooh, and don't foget the Gnoolies and the Minuses!
