So I started watching these again.

I remember watching them fondly as a kid. Though I didn't watch a whole ton of them.

It's really weird too, that I remember them being kid oriented. No, I'm not talking about the animated series... I remembered the TV series being kid oriented. I was glad to be proven wrong, that they are more adult oriented with foul language and nudity and camp horror! My kind of show!

And you gotta love the Cryptkeeper!

Oh come on man! The first episode I just watched had nudity and lots of profanity! Awesome! The makings of a perfect show!

Because it was aired on HBO, a premium cable television station, it was one of the few anthology series to be allowed to have full freedom from censorship by the FCC. The station allowed the series to contain graphic violence as well as other content that had not appeared in most television series up to that time, such as profanity, gore, nudity and sexual situations.

The first few seasons were good, then they slowly became worst as time went on.

The Crypt Creeper gave me nightmares.
I think I only ever saw the movies, caught the series when it was airing on public TV so it felt like a kid's show with everything censored to all hell.

I freaking loved watching this show. One of the ones I remember most was the vampire strippers. YAAAA!

The one I have most vividly in my mind was the one where the kids had to go to the top floor of this haunted house thing.

I only watched the animated series, the other series was on at like 12:00 at night on the sci-fi channel
